THIS is just wrong, on so many levels...but even worse is the sneaky way of trying to enforce disarmament. And just for the sake of clarity, that means they take our guns away, kiddies...leaving us defenseless and at the mercy of evildoers.

Sound like fun?

If you do nothing else today, please read this, and then do something about it--even if it's as small as sharing it on your blog or passing the info on in an email. Every little bit counts. (And PRAY!)

United we stand.

Every government is a parliament of whores. The trouble is, in a democracy, the whores are us.

- P. J. O'Rourke

America has just herself soul for the promise of free handouts in the name of "humanity" and "charity". Rest assured these "freebies" will most certainly be bought with a heavy price. Nothing is free.

We've happily given the reins of this nation to ungodly, corrupt, and perverted men for too long. Now we are about to pay the price. God save us from ourselves.

Pray. Pray that this will swiftly be repealed as was prohibition and that liberty will once more be reinstated. Pray hard.

House Vote On ObamaCare Scheduled

The (Unfortunately Necessary) Disclaimer: I get unfriended by people every single time I post something religious, controversial, or political. If you're not familiar with my values and opinions by now, or if what I'm about to post is offensive to you, then that's fine. You're more than welcome to reply, but please be polite and respectful (of me, my God, my beliefs, as well as my other readers), and please don't leave me a melodramatic comment about how disgusting I am, quibbling over my tag usage, or making a dramatic exit as you defriend me in an enraged huff. Remember my profile was there BEFORE you friended me, and this is, after all, my blog. For the time being at least, I can still say what I want on it. ;-P
(Because my life is dramatic enough without any online nonsense!)

Now that I've gotten that little bit of disagreeable business out of the way, here are some bits and pieces from the above article. If you read nothing else please at least read these following excerpts:
"The Senate-passed version would allow the ATF to troll your confidential medical records"...

Guess this doesn't fit under "unlawful search and seizure"...Land of the Free, welcome to the Land of the Legal Loopholes! Let's just pry into everyone's personal records and make one big database out of all their information, because that's such a brilliant idea and of course that will keep it safe from all harm! *coughHACKERS?cough*

"The bill your Representative will be voting on still contains virtually all of the bribes that made the Senate version such a disgusting spectacle."

Oh wow, now I can totally rest assured that the economy will be on an upswing after this little gem passes. The government has done such a fantastic job with all our money, being so responsible and all! Let's just give them truckloads more, shall we? Because of course our always honest and ever-trustworthy elected officials know how to spend our hard-earned money much better than we do.

And this is most particularly alarming --
"...the bill [...] would increase the cost of private insurance [...] and require, under penalty of imprisonment, that you buy it.

If that doesn't scare people or at the very least raise a few eyebrows, then they're probably either already living in a nation with decreased freedoms, or may need to think about relocating to one such country, because obviously the hard-won liberty that has made this nation as great as it is aren't being valued by its citizens.

And of course I saved the best for last...

"...the will of the people, who according to the latest polls, overwhelmingly oppose this legislation..."

What ever happened to vox populi, vox dei?? Not that I personally believe that that's true from a religious standpoint, but from a political standpoint I most certainly do. So ask you, what is the point of having ELECTED officials (sans BHO's czars, of course. *sighs and shakes head* Thanks a lot, GWB, for setting such a delightful precedent of sidestepping the American people and trampling on the checks and balances!), if those very same individuals blatantly ignore the wishes of their constituents??? Let's flood them with emails, harass them with calls, and annoy them by expressing that God-given American right of freedom of speech! Click the appropriate link in the article linked above to do just that.

And what, has everyone forgotten how to spell the word RECALL? California did it to Gray Davis in 2003, so why can't we as a nation do it again with those heedless "employees" of We the People? Politicians are like children -- why would they dream of obeying, if we, like so many parents, are all bark and no bite?

Socialism sound like fun, anyone? I don't know about you but I for one don't want to go to jail simply because I committed the heinous crime of neglecting to buy health care for myself!! Jail is supposed to be for bad people -- you know, like murderers, rapists, and child molesters? Oh wait! I forgot! Those are the people we let out early for good behaviour -- it's those dangerous Martha Stewarts of this world that need to be locked up.

It's a funny world we live in.

Shamelessly stolen from my brother's blog and shared here because this is something serious that I think all Americans need to know about.

I stumbled across this video quite by accident, but after watching it, I just couldn't not post it here. To be honest, I think I would have felt guilty if I did not.

If evil triumphs because good men do nothing, and ignorance the root and the stem of every evil, then perhaps I will have done some good by speaking out against this horrific atrocity.

Watch the video, and look at the pictures.

This is slightly later than I'd wanted it to be, but a busy schedule can sometimes have that effect. ;-)

My perspectives on why we should all thank the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for their recent accolades to movies such as The Reader, and Milk. (Please withhold judgement until you've read what I have to say...) ;-P

So I'd like to thank the Academy... )
olde_fashioned: (Bible -- put your hope in the Lord)
While it seems the majority of the country is rejoicing our new president-elect, I cannot help but be saddened at the direction this country is taking. I am saddened that we have just elected an untried and inexperienced man and given him the reins of this country. I am saddened that we as a nation have allowed the politicians and the liberal media to effectively pull the wool over our eyes and project another flawed human being as a god-like figure. I am saddened that we have just elected a president who will sign into law the Freedom of Choice Act which will effectively sign the death warrants of an untold multitude of unborn children. I'm saddened that we have sent the most radical, the most liberal, and potentially the most anti-American person we've ever had run for president to the highest office in the land to take power in January. I am saddened that our politics have degraded and deteriorated to the point that I couldn't even find a decent Biblically-qualified Republican candidate to vote for without compromising half my values.

And most of all? I am saddened that most people are rejoicing at all of this.

Part of me feels like crying. :-(

Pray, people. Even if you don't live here, pray for America, pray for not only our country, but all those around the world that will be affected by our policies and our actions, pray that our enemies aren't tempted to test a new and inexperienced president, pray that none of our rights (especially our first and second ammendment rights) aren't trampled on or even eliminated, and pray that whatever wheels Obama sets into motion that they won't permanantly damage this country or the world. God is still in control no matter if the Democrats or the Republicans are in office, and He can still use people, even the likes of Obama.

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
~ Proverbs 3:5

What man intends for evil God often turns around and uses for good, so let's pray that this is another example. I don't understand why God let this happen, but He knows much better than me or anyone else, and if He can create all of the universe and everything in it, I think He can be trusted with an election.

The whole campaign everyone talked about Obama being an "inspiration" and about his bringing "new hope" to America in trouble times. Well guess what? Obama is only a man, a flawed, finite, tiny human being, and that's nothing, absolutely nothing compared to what God is. I don't trust polticians, I trust God. I don't put my hope in Obama, I put my hope in God.

"...put your hope in the LORD both now and forevermore."
~ Psalm 131:2-3

Obama promises hope and change, but God doesn't change. Politicians come and go, "but the word of our God stands forever." (Isaiah 40:8b)

So take that, Obama!

I feel compelled, by recent replies to my other posts of a political nature, to warn anyone of Democratic, liberal, or otherwise left-leaning politics that I'm posting this because at the moment I feel like expressing myself on my own blog, (even though I'm sure some comments will make me regret it later), not to offend anyone intentionally but to voice my own feelings on a subject which is surely foremost in the majority of minds in this country, if not the world. So this is a warning that few populi will like what I'm about to say, so don't both clicking the cut line if you're not able to read opposing viewpoints and comment like a sensible adult. Everyone is welcome to comment, only refrain from giving me the broadside, please.

"The American Family Association (AFA) launched the boycott yesterday because McDonald's joined the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce several months ago and placed an executive on the group's board of directors, in addition to donating to the chamber."

Are you sure you want to support gay marriage with your money? Because that is what McDonald's is doing with the profits that they make when you purchase their (not very tasty and not at all healthy) food. (and how come we can't have a Straight People Chamber of Commerce??)

No more iced coffees for me! ;-D

Note: I'm posting this for the benefit of those who would be grateful to learn about this boycott. If you're looking for a flame war, argument, or to push your pro-sodomite agenda, then please don't bother to comment. Comments will be screened and deleted if necessary.

(I'm also aware that McDonald's is not the only company guilty of this, so please don't start where-would-it-all-end-how-come-you're-not-boycotting-so-and-so-too. For the record, I still boycott Disney.)

The association asked McDonald's to remove itself from the chamber but the burger-maker declined, leading to the boycott. "We're saying that there are people who support AFA who don't appreciate their dollars from the hamburgers they bought being put into an organization that's going to fight against the values they believe in," Tim Wildmon, the association's president, said yesterday.

After meeting with Wildmon, the corporation refused to withdraw their support for the Chamber. "...In fact, McDonald's strongly told us that they are reaffirming their commitment".

One News Now article

Washington Post article

Boycott McDonald's

I for one say Happy Meals are not that great anyway; certainly not enough to keep me from denying the radical and liberals who enjoy forcing homosexuality down our throats my money. They don't care what we think because they think we're insignificant (and I heard an "expert" say as much on the news tonight!) and we keep giving them our money, anyway. I say let's show them!! If they don't want to listen to us, then they don't need to enjoy the music of our money that they dance to all the way to the bank, either.

Taken from [livejournal.com profile] ceallaighgirl.

I'm dipping my toes in the waters of political blogging, something that I rarely do. I'm stating right up front that I am screening all comments to this thread in anticipation of the nasty comments that I will most likely get because of this. If you want to comment and discuss things rationally like an adult, then that's fine, even if we disagree. If you're coming here to start a fire and blast myself/other commenters, then don't bother.

And those of you who are offended by this, go ahead and unfriend me. It wouldn't be the first time...;-)

According to Barack Obama, once you are born, you are not a person. If you are unwanted and wished dead, it's okay to kill you, because nobody wants you, anyway, and that means you're not a person! Since when does the government (or anyone, for that matter) get to decide which human being is a person and which is not? The next thing you know, people who are born into poverty won't be human beings, either, or those of us who have physical disabilities, or deformities. With this line of thinking, it's okay to kill someone if they are unwanted or deemed a burden. Terri Schiavo, anyone?

Quoted from this article here,

According to Barack Obama, Gianna Jessen shouldn't exist.

Miss Jessen is an exquisite example of what antiabortion advocates call a "survivor." Well into her third trimester of pregnancy, Gianna's biological mother was injected with a saline solution intended to induce a chemical abortion at a Los Angeles County abortion center. Eighteen hours later, and precious minutes before the abortionist's arrival, Gianna emerged. Premature and with severe injuries that resulted in cerebral palsy. But alive.

Had the abortionist been present at her birth, Gianna would have been killed, perhaps by suffocation. As it was, a startled nurse called an ambulance, and Gianna was rushed to a nearby hospital, where, weighing just two pounds, she was placed in an incubator, then, months later, in foster care.

Gianna survived then, and thrives now, because, as she told me recently with a laugh, "I guess I don't die easy."

Those statements are seriously made but, alas, cannot be taken at all seriously. Mr. Obama has compiled a 100% lifetime "pro-choice" voting record, including votes against any and all restrictions on late-term abortions and parental involvement in teenagers' abortions.

[Obama] promises, "the first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act," which would overturn hundreds of federal and state laws limiting abortion, including the federal ban on partial-birth abortion and bans on public funding of abortion.

This is just wonderful. Not only are unborn babies denied rights, but now an already-born, outside-of-the-womb infant are also "not a person." I pray God that anyone who is so morally bankrupt will never be at the healm of our nation, and hold the fates of ourselves and our children in his bloody hands.
