A quick question for everyone...
May. 24th, 2007 12:59 amHow many of you would be interested in color bars (or love bars, or whatever the heck they're called!) if I made them for various subjects? I've seen so many people using them, and I'd like to know if they'd be worth my time.
Here are two samples:

These are my first, but feel free to use them if you'd like. Just comment and credit as you would an icon, please! :-)

Date: 2007-05-25 01:54 am (UTC)*grin* I may be telling you what you already know, but they began as gay pride bars with the slogan "marriage is love" (rather then being just about gender etc). Then people began to personalize them, and finally the token rainbow colors disappeared, but the "_______ is love" slogan remained. You can still see the plain pride bars at some journals...

Date: 2007-05-30 01:38 am (UTC)I'd love to see some Jane Austen or classic literature or similar colorbars. I don't have enough of those.
And yes, the colorbars started out as support for gay marriage, but they went on to making fun of gay marriage or marriage in general or anything in general. The gay marriage one said "marriage is love," but a response was a black bar saying "marriage is a black pit of despair." I laughed.

I still need to read Northanger Abbey, but then again, I need to read a lot of things.

Date: 2007-06-01 07:07 pm (UTC)Sure, I'd be interested. These are beautiful, thanks.
I'd particularly like to see pics from the 1986 Northanger Abbey...I'm one of the few fans of NA 1.
At least NA1 used Udolpho for Catherine's fantasies.
I am appalled how NA2 used The Monk; a book she never read !

shouldn't be so forthright on NA2;
please excuse my presumtion.
NA is my favourite Jane Austen book next to P&P.
I am known as Mandy N.
Please keep up your great work with the NA colour bars.
Wish I was as talented :-D

Date: 2008-02-24 07:12 am (UTC)You ought to make more! I don't think you ever finished your entire Jane Austen series, and I'm sure you would make plenty of other lovely colorbars as well, on all sorts of topics. d: It would be nice to see them. Which one do you have in progress?

Date: 2008-02-24 07:17 am (UTC)You're right, I haven't, mainly because I use icons as the images and I don't have big enough batches of each movie.
The 1995 Sense & Sensibility. I've been working on a batch of those, and I was going to post one when I posted the icons.
