If you're reading this and you're a guy, spare yourself some pain and don't read any further. Girls, guess what I got yesterday? SHOES! :-D (see, I told you guys not to look!!) lol.

Yesterday, due to Spencer's taking another test (he passed btw, coughHOORAYFORMYBROTHERcough) my mom and I decided to head over to a Nordstrom's Rack to use up a giftcard that my dad got from work, and gave to me. After a little browsing, (I headed straight for the shoe department, ha ha) two darling pairs emerged and begged to be taken home. They were less than half off, so I complied. ;-P I also took pics of them to share:

Say hello to my new black t-straps! I just love these, they are so Vintage looking. They remind me of something from the 20s or 30s. ♥ It makes me want a swing-type dress to go with them, lol!

These are very similar to the t-straps, only they're pumps. The color is very interesting, almost a cordovan with a reddish-brown tinge. I think I smell a tweed or plaid skirt in the future...

I had trouble getting this image to come out, in the afternoon light. And I should have taken a shot of the soles, because they're almost as beautiful as the uppers! They have a lovely floral almost brocade-like design in addition to delicate stitching and details that are only able to be fully appreciated in person. Oh well.

I'm not sure how many of my readers care about shoes, but as I always enjoy entries about "loot" and I haven't blogged about them in over a year, I'm doing it anyway. *folds arms and points nose in the air*

They might be swollen, actually, since I tend to swell up with the Rheumatoid thing.... That's a thought. But I've only worn them like once before, which is frustrating.

I love that show! I love all the info behind the reasoning--how different styles make you look your best/how you can trick people into thinking you're taller. Valuable information, I say! ;)

Oh, I don't remember that line, though I saw that movie. :D I don't like clicky shoes. I used to tiptoe over hard surfaces.

lol!

That's no fun. I had a pair of boots that I knew was too small but I wore them out anyway...only to hobble around like a cripple because my toes were jammed into them. My mom was like, "Lauren, those shoes are too small." Me: "No, they're fine!" *paintripsfalls*

Oh I like that stuff. But I disagree with a lot of the modern "fashion rules", like if you wear calf boots you have to wear short skirts, or you pair opposites together and wear a frilly dress with a clunky military jacket to avoid looking "costumey". (what is wrong with looking "costumey" I'd like to know??????)

Vertical stripes make you look taller, as do two seperates of the same color. ;-) Striped tights and wide belts are a no-no. *lolz*

When I was little I would make my shoes clonk to sound like horses. *facepalm* Now I just think it sounds grown-up and sophisticated. Hahaha. But only certain sounds. I had a pair of hard plastic jelly flops from Delia's that I wouldn't wear because the sound was bizzare.

lol! I do that. I heard of someone who wore the wrong size and like seriously messed up her feet though...

Oh, I don't like either of those trends either. But Stacey and Clinton (the hosts) never ever let anyone get away with hard-core chunky stuff. I like the rules about empire waists emphasizing your tiny waist and straight-leg jeans (vs. the kind that get narrow at your ankles *shudder*) and... and... Pointy-toed-shoes make your legs look longer. And stuff. :)

Horizontal stripes look good on no one!

LOL = bizarre sound. I think little clip-clops sound sophisticated, but about every fifth step I have a tendancy to stomp and then it's like, "clickieclickiecklickeclickie... STOMPCLICK."

Yikes!! I got rid of the shoes after one attempt to wear them. I wouldn't (couldn't!!) do that for long.

Aren't they both British, or are those some other fashion-nazis?

I never wore skinny jeans. I wore bootcut. ;-)

LOL!! Clickie clickie STOMPSTOMP. lol.

Yeah. It was weird.

They're not British. They live in New York, I think.

Good! Skinny ones are awful. *shudder*

*rolls eyes*

Okay. I've seen two British women who do it and have guested on Oprah (WHICH I DO NOT WATCH).

I hate skinny jeans. I like only boot cut or slightly flared. Not too flared, unless you want to look like a disco dork.

;-P

No, but they're friendly. I really like the guy (not likelike, just enjoy his role). My friend figured out he's there because a guy telling you this outfit is really unattractive or this outfit is absolutely beautiful is different for women than if another woman said it. And Clinton's very funny.

Right, I get it. And she's got a point about a man telling a woman she looks good -- unless he's gay. Then it doesn't count. ;-P

He doesn't act gay at all. :)
