This is fun! I think everyone should do this.

Reply to this post, and I will tell you my favorite icon of yours. Then post this to your own journal using your own favorite icon.

(I picked this icon, but it was really hard!!! Almost a tie between the Boating Beauties on and my new Vigee-le Brun.)

I hope, in view if the fact I have no friends (*chuckle*), you'll forgive me not posting this myself. Of your icons, I Like the Lady in the Snood best, and of my own, the Everyman (with Wren's schematic as a close second).

You don't have to post this in your journal, if you don't want to. But you do have at least *one* friend, you know. ;-)

I like your P&P Jane "Joy" icon the very best, I think. But then you have so many, it's hard to choose!!

My favorite icon of yours is probably your Lavoisier's wife one. But I do like your new Vigee-le Brun icon.

I like that one too -- so much so that I've been unable to change it out!! ;-)

As for your icons, I like either your Little Lotte one, or your N&S one. :-)

Thank you!!

You have lots of pretty ones, too. But I would have to choose either your Beatrice, or your Lady in the hat, who is Emma, Lady Hamilton, BTW. ;-)

I like your Molly reading icon very much. :)

re: Jane Eyre and our other comments. *grin*

I completely agree! I like nice looking actors...I was only talking of the book when I wrote that about Mr. Rochester and love. :)

Yes, I watched Bleak House...what did you think?

I've watched max 3 epsiodes of Five Mile Creek--not my favorite, but okay.

I frequent Pemberley very much, just don't post. :)

Completely agree--Gilbert Morris needs help in the writing department. For suspense I love Ted Dekker...Kirsten Heitzmann is very good for historical italian fiction.

J.J. Field was very sweet in that film--the only thing I've seen him in. He'll be a dashing Tilney! :)

Do you go on Austenblog much?

Goodnight!

Hello again!!

Icons -- I love the N&S one you've used, and I also like your Marianne alone, and your Daniel Deronda. ;-)

I enjoyed Bleak House very much. :-) Loved the costumes, hairstyles, etc., and I liked the characters of Esther and Mr. Jarndyce very much. Mr. Guppy was very amusing, too.

I lurk almost every single day on Pemberley...I've learned so much from their L&T board!!!

Yes I check Austenblog fairly frequently. Why, was there something in particular you had in mind?

The only think I saw "our new Henry" in, was the awful awful awful To The Ends of the Earth, which was so bad I couldn't even watch it all. JJ played a drunk, so he wasn't exactly dashing when I saw him. :-P

It is beyond me why Gilbert Morris is so popular -- I guess he never heard the saying "quality, not quantity." :-\ I'll have to check out those other two names.....are the Heitzmann Italian novels Renaissance, by any chance?? I love a good period story!

Would you by any chance be interested in reading Wives & Daughters sometime in March?

Why thank you...all your costume icons are gorgeous. :)

Bleak House was fascinating. I couldn't figure it out, but that maid was certainly fishy. :) I felt so badly for Lady Deadlock. Her husband loved her and she didn't know it, she wanted to love her daughter and couldn't because of scandel. Good gracious! :) I personally loved Woodcourt and Esther together? Did you? Or do you prefer Jarndyce for her?
Mr. Guppy was a riot, yet kinda creepy. He reminded me way too much of Edward Scissorhands. :)

Nope, was just wondering if you went on AustenBlog. They are quite funny over there at times. :) I hope Northanger Abby turns out clean....Jane Eyre dissapointed me in that regard. I mean come on, we don't need to stick modern sensuality into a beautiful period piece!

Oh I know, I watched half an hour of The Ends of the Earth, and couldn't stand it, so I shut it off.

The Kirsten Heitzmann series is called The Diamond of the Rockies, and is set during the gold/silver rush. So rather western. I personally don't like the whole western bent, but it was pretty okay in those books--and Carina (the heroine) will make you want to cook and make pasta! :) And be Italian! :)

Reading Wives and Daughters sounds good! :)

Have you seen Daniel Deronda? Read the book? :)

Have a gorgeous day!

*blushes* I'm flattered!! So thank you. :-)

BH -- did you not get to see the ending? I don't want to spoil anything you haven't seen, but I know one reason the maid was so creepy...she was French. ;-) (No offense intended for any French people out there!!!)

Lady Dedlock was intriguing, and yet another example of a lack of communication. If she'd only tried to talk to her husband, she might have ended up being able to keep both her daughter and her life. Sad business!

I liked Woodcourt enough, but I don't think the show gave the viewer enough reasons or time to like him of his own accord. We pretty much had to take Esther's word for it, and all the good things he did were in her presence. I wished they would have included a shipwreck scene with him saving lives...but I suppose it was long enough anyway!! I did feel sorry for Jarndyce, though.

I've never really seen Edward Scissorhands, so I can't compare. But I do think Johnny Depp is creepy....but then again any man who wears more mascara and eyeliner than I do is a creep for sure. ;-)

If any of these new JA adaptations have a speck of dirt in them I am going to have a coronary...Jane Austen would roll over in her grave at what some of these people have done with her stories.

The ad I saw for TEotE made it look like a Napoleonic series with women in pretty dresses aboard...kinda like a cross between Master & Commander and a Regency flick, so naturally I taped it. ;-) I was disgusted, and wouldn't even watch the rest of it. :-P

The Corrie Belle Hollister series by Phillips & Pella sounds rather similar to what your tDotR, except mine are set in California. I love westerns, so that would be a plus for me!!! My aunt is Italian!! I think Italians are fun! ;-)

Are you joining a Group Read, then? I'll let you know when we have decided on a schedule.

I've seen most of DD, but never read the book. I don't know that I want to be preached at...and I've heard it's rather dull. I take it you've read it, then?

Have you seen Lorna Doone?

Pleasantries right back at you!

Yes, I saw all of Bleak House...but I like trying to figure out who and what, and it stumped me! I was so glad it wasn't Lady Deadlock, I'll say that. I felt so bad when Nemo died.

Woodcourt: what you said was true, but I still liked him for Esther's sake. Jarndcye was too old. Sorry. LOL

Edward Scissorhands is very sweet. One part needs cutting out though. LOL. I actually find Johnny rather nice looking--some of the time. And am hopeing AWE isn't too creepy...I liked the first two Pirates movies.
Did you?

What Group Read are you joining?

Daniel Deronda--I liked the book very much. It goes more into Mirah than the movie. Your thoughts on Gwen? Gwen/Daniel? Daniel/Mirah?

Lorna Doone--like it very much. Must admit I find Carver more attractive than John in the looks department. Your thoughts?

Have a gorgeous weekend!

Well, Bleak House certainly did hop around, and the editing was somewhat choppy. And then there was that creepy music... I never did think it was Lady Dedlock, really. I mean, that was what they were trying to get you to think, and that usually means they're confusing you on purpose in these type of mystery shows, at least in my experience.

How old were Jarndyce and Esther in the book? Denis Lawson is twice as old as Anna Maxwell Martin, who's 29. I suppose when you look at it that way, it looks awful. ;-) A much larger gap than any of Jane Austen's pairings, I must say!!

I usually do not care for the "bad boy" type look. What is "AWE"?? I did not see any of the pirate movies, and I do not intend to. Sorry.

I am not joining a GR, I am trying to start one! ;-) None of the GR places I know of will be reading W&D when I want to, so when all else fails, do it yourself! ;-)

I've yet to read DD, so my opinions are based solely on the film. While Gwendolen was beautiful, charming, and even sympathetic, I really do not think she is a "good girl." I did find myself liking her character, but something about her convinced me that she lacked a moral toughness. I don't think she and Daniel would have been happy.

I did not care for the way Daniel continued to spend time with the married Gwen, at the same time while his affections must have been growing for Mirah. Mirah I thought was a much more down-to-earth, good moral woman than Gwen, and I think she would probably make a much better homemaker. ;-) I kind of felt that Daniel should have confessed his attractions for Gwen to Mirah, though...

I forgot to ask you which Lorna Doone you saw?? I've only seen the 2001 Amelia Warner version, but I aware of the Sean Bean/Clive Owen one.

Same to you!

~Lauren :-)

Bleak House was done very modern and at times the music and filmed style grated on me. It would have been much better if the filming had matched the gorgeous costumes and story.

Did you watch any of Foyle's War on PBS? Those were pretty good. Roger from Wives and Daughters played an admirable role.

I must admit that I generally don't like bad-boys either, clean cute Mr. Darcy, Mr. Thornton, Woodcourt, etc are my general tastes. Jack Sparrow broke the mold. LOL

That's okay, I have other friends who don't get into PIrates either. :) It's a quirk of mine. *grin* AWE is At World's End, the third and last of the Pirates movies.

I'll join your group read. :)

Daniel Deronda. I agree. Daniel should not have spent so much time and energy on Gwen. He was obviously attracted to her (in the film only, there is no indication of attraction on his side--only compassion in the book.)

Gwendelyn wasn't really bad in my opinon, just weak and easily swayed by others opinions of her. She didn't really have a moral center, that she adhered to anyways. She had no qualms, (okay, maybe a few) of marrying a man with a mistress who gave him several children. Nor, did she flinch at playing with several poor guy's hearts. Not an admirable heroine, but not exactly Scarlett O Hara. =)

Mirah was almost the exact opposite of Gwen, in faith, actions and spirit. She loved Daniel unselfishly and hopefully. And clung to her faith in distress. Liked her very much. I think it was obvious to Mirah that Daniel had an attraction to Gwendolyn, he should have asked for her forgiveness.

Lorna Doone--I've only seen the 2001 version as well. Library doesn't have the older one.

Have a blessed Sunday!

Well, I was more than willing to put up with the music and editing for those costumes!!! *swoons* Which one was your favourite? I for one adored that berry/dark red dress of Lady Dedlock's.

It's funny that you should mention Foyle's War. Last Saturday I managed to catch the tail end of one, and watch all of a second, ("Eagle Day") and I enjoyed it. I did notice Roger Hamley, and I made sure everyone else did, too! ;-) From what little I saw of his character, I think he was a very good man.

Now without spoiling anything for me please (!), I was under the impression that Mr. Thornton was a sort of "bad boy"?? Nevermind, don't answer that. ;-) I want to be surprised...

I do not object to pirate movies, I just object what the filmmakers put into them. ;-) From what I saw PotC had supernatural elements, so I've avoided it. My dad loves a good pirate movie, so I've seen all the old ones, like Captain Blood, Seahawk, etc. I prefer a good Napoleonic Naval drama, thank you very much. Have you ever seen Master & Commander, or the new Ioan Gruffudd Horatio Hornblower series? *costumescostumescostumes*

Gwendolen reminds me of a high-spirited horse, in the sense that she is beautiful, intelligent, and high-strung, but those very qualities that are prized by some will also be her undoing in the end. I do think that Gwen married Grandcourt partly out of despair of poverty, though. While I don't agree with marrying for money, I do understand it. From the scene where she visits her mother after her wedding, I do think she wanted to help support her family, too. That is admirable, certainly.

LD -- Okay, then at least I know we're talking about the same people. ;-) I thought Carver was a creep!! But then he was supposed to be creepy, so I wouldn't have liked him anyway. I do prefer dark hair to blonde, but I didn't think the actor who played John Ridd was particularly attractive. He did have a big infectious smile, though. I thought Amelia Warner looked lovely. I'd love to see her in some more costume dramas. (I presume you know that Michael Kitchen, i.e. Foyle of Foyle's War, played the guy who was going to hang John, and then later persueded the king to give him a knighthood? LD is full of people from other shows...did you recognize John's mother from W&D? Aiden Gillan is credited as being in Titanic, but I sure didn't know that!!)

Thank you, and you have a blessed Sunday also, even though it's still Saturday for me..._ ;-)

Oh yes, after a while I got used to it. I only watched it once, so I can't really remember any costumes in particuler. I did like Esther's blue one she wore when she received Woodcourt's flowers. Many of Lady Deadlock's dresses were beautiful.

My Dad and I like Foyle's War very much. Most of them are pretty decent as well, so that is a plus. :)

Oh my, Mr. Thornton bad? Gracious...ummm no...a bit of a temper really, but certainly not womanizing or something like that. Oops did I spoil it? I hope not. He is a darling, and needs a hug several times in the ministries. *grin* And book.

I guess I just classify the Jack Sparrow Pirate movies as 'fantasy' the supernatural stuff is weird, I admit. But the swashbuckling, costumes and hilarity almost make me forget the weirdness.

I've seen one Horatio (The Wrong War) and haven't seen Master and Commander. Is it good?

While Gwen may have had some good intentions in providing for her family by marrying Grandcourt, it doesn't erase the fact of his mistress and children--nor that I think she wasnted to tame Grandcourt in a way, she loved having people wrapped around her finger and she thought she had him. But she didn't.*shudder* No girl deserves to be raped in a sense by her husband. Ick.

Lorna Doone...=) Carver is much nicer looking than John, but John certainly has a more honorable personality. Lorna was gorgeous and very sweet. :) I don't remember seeing Adian in Titanic (I have it edited.) I love seeing all the same actors in different period pieces. It's a riot.

Have you seen The New World?

How many siblings do you have? I have five. :)

Have a gorgeous day!

I'm always on the lookout for a new period series to watch, and I love a good mystery, so I might try to hunt down some Foyle's at the library.

Well, someone told me he beats his employees, so I just naturally assumed...and no, you did not spoil it. ;-)

Who is that in your icon -- is that Christian Bale???? It looks like The New World, but I haven't seen that, so I don't know. I do not care for Colin Farrell, so that's pretty much why I haven't seen it.

What did you think of the Horatio you saw? It's fairly similar to M&C, so if you hated the HH then I suppose you might not like M&C. My own opinion of it is excellent, and it's clean if you don't mind a couple swear words, nothing excessive, but there is some brief violence, for they are at war, and people get hurt. The dialog is really great and very quotable, with some very amusing scenes. I would recommend it.

While the mistress and illegitimate children might seem like a big deal to us, it is a fact that many, many men did that kind of thing back then, so it was much more common and "overlooked" than it would be now.

I never did see all of Titanic, but supposedly he's a crewmember. If I ever see it again I'll keep an eye out for him.

I love spotting the same actors, too!! It *is* a riot! Especially when you get a film that has half a dozen of them, and you're like, "Oh look! Guess who THAT is??!" We do it all the time here, and it's great fun. In fact, Mr. Jarndyce was in one of the Horatio Hornblowers, and so of course I enlightened everyone else. ;-) haha .

I have one brother, who is two years younger than me, but many years wiser. ;-) I love him more than anything, and we are very close. What about your siblings? Do you only sisters or brothers, or do you have some of each?

I live in California, but I trust you won't hold that against me! ;-) Where do you live, might I ask? No pressure if you are uncomfortable with revealing that.

Once again, a pleasure...

~Lauren :-)

Thornton--Oh but he has a good reason, yes his temper flies a bit, but h'e partially justified. Otherwise (in my opinion) he is a lovely example of a literary gentleman. :)

Yes, that was Christian Bale as John Rolfe. I've never seen anything else with Colin Farrell (even though I've heard of his reputation.) He was decent in The New World. Very sweet, slow, gorgeous period piece. You'd probably like it.

I liked the Horatio I saw, it was enjoyable, he's very honorable.
I don't mind a few swear words, but the F word (and abuses of Jesus name) I avoid like the plague if at all possible.

And Imdb is very helpful if one is in any doubt over which actor is which and where he's been before. *grin* We do that as well, 'haven't we seen him/her before? Oh my shes..!!" Funny.

I have three sisters and two brothers. All younger than me. (I'll be 20 soon.) They are a lot of fun and work. *grin*

I live in WI...and I don't mind you live in CA. *grin*

Oh, that icon is lovely!!!

Ah -- I see about Mr. Thornton. He gives someone a good thrashing when they deserve it, but it probably has to do with the plot. Say no more! ;-)

I must confess I find the idea of a romance between John Smith and Pocahontas to be ridiculous. Does TNW do this?

Yes, taking the Lord's name in vain is the worst, followed closely by the F word. :-P

IMDb is indeed useful!! I think it's funny to find something out before someone else, and then wait and watch for them to "catch on" and remember the person. ;-) Or I could say, "do you want to see _____?" "No!" "But so-and-so's in it...." "...they are?? Really?" You get the idea. (I told you I'm a dork!!)

Cute!!! Younger siblings are the best. I would have liked to have a sister, but I wouldn't trade my brother for a hundred sisters. May I ask their ages?? Little ones are especially cute. (Do you have to feed the boys -- lol)

I see we are basically the same age. ;-) I like to tell people "I am not yet one-and-twenty", because that's how Lizzy said it in P&P. ;-P

Thank you for your gracious acceptance of my living on the West Coast...you know they call us the Land of Fruits and Nuts, and for good reason. I promise not to make any cheese jokes. ;-)

I'm not that big on magazines, but I am aware of HC, but never heard of Inkblots. I've yet to read SMM, so sorry about that!! I love Stepping Heavenward, though. Have you read that?

Why thank you.

Today I made icons for the first time in a long time. Much fun. :)

TNW made John Smith and Pocahontas rather sweet. I didn't like the idea either, but it's so sweet then mournful they almost pull it off. *g* I personally like John Rolfe and her's very gentle romance during the last hour of the movie. It is precious.

My youngest sibling is six, and she is much fun as well as the rest. :) We stamped cards today, all us girls and it was a lovely time.
Oh indeed, boys can be very hungry and they must be fed! :) They can cook themselves a fair bit, so that is helpful at times.

Inkblots--is a literary magazine from a Christian perspective. I've enjoyed it very much, especially the issues on Jane Austen, Literary heroines and heros. :)

Stepping Heavenward, I read several years ago, and liked it to some point. I can't remember very much of it.

I should start coining that Lizzy phrase as well, very cute. :)

Did you like the newest P&P?

Blessings,
~Anna

You're welcome. ;-)

I've just discovered how to screencap, so I have a new toy!! :-D

Who played Rolfe?

How old are your brothers? Mine is 18, and he's always hungry. ;-) He can handle himself in the kitchen, but I try to do it for him mostly, because I feel mean. ;-)

Does Inkblots have any online articles I could sample?

Stepping Heavenward is definitely worth a re-read!!

As to your question, I didn't hate it, but I didn't care for it very much, either. There were too many things wrong with it; namely, the deviations from the novel, the sculpture gallery garbage, the costumes weren't as accurate as they should have been, and I do not like Keira Knightley, and Donald Sutherland is irritating and American. I am also convinced that Joe Wright has no respect for a literary adaptation, and he was so caught up in making things "pretty" or symbolic that he missed the whole point of the film. I did like some of the scenery, but after watching the commentary, they were discovered to be CGI, which spoilt it for me. ;-) I did think Tom Hollander made a great Mr. Collins, and I rather liked Rosamund Pike as Jane. What did you think of it?

Screencappng is rather addictive. I have hoards of them in my files to prove it. :) Have fuN!

One of my brothers, is just your brother's age...the other just became a teenager. Ah! I do most of the cooking, so then don't feel bad when they lend a hand now and then. :)

http://www.erality.com/inkblots/

Christian Bale was Rolfe. Brilliant! :)

If I don't think of P&P as P&P...weird huh, it's sweet, clean and pretty. Kiera isn't my favorite either. I liked Darcy though! :) And you are right, Mr. Collins was brilliant, and Jane was beautiful and sweet in this version. =)

Have you read the book "Mother"?

Date: 2007-02-21 12:05 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] olde-fashioned.livejournal.com
Oh, yes!! Now I've got my brother doing it!! ;-) Our desktop wallpaper on the family computer now rotates between Jane Austen flicks and war movies....lol.

I do most of the cooking here, too, and all of the baking, which I don't do as much of as I used to, since we moved into a smaller house with a smaller kitchen.

How do you feel about cleaning whole chickens?? I used to think it was disgusting, but it's actually not as gross when you're the one doing it, versus watching someone else.

Keira is way too modern, plus I think she's too skinny. Her hair wasn't very period, either, and I resented the tomboy-ification of Lizzy's character. I thought the boiled potatoes line was priceless, as was the Collins-nearly-getting-brained-by-Darcy's-elbow routine. LOL!! I was pleasantly surprised at MM's Darcy -- he wasn't as bad as I thought he was going to be. ;-) You know who he's married to in real life?

I still prefer the '95 Firth/Ehle P&P hands down!!! Just watched it the other day (for the millionth time) in fact.

No, what is "Mother"? I've never heard of it, at least I don't think so.

Have you read Northanger Abbey, or seen the movie?

Hi Lauren,

Do you babysit at all? Is it something you enjoy?

Today I watched 11 month old Sammi for 4 hours and had a marvelous time. I love babies.

Cleaning chickens, well, since I've never done it--only watched it, I can't really say. Now if you want to know about cleaning pig intestines for sausage casings, I'm the girl to ask. *lol*

What war movies do you like?

Mother is a book that Vision Forum puts out--it's a novel, and so sweet. :)

What do you think of Becoming Jane?

I think it's funny, too, especially when you consider how Tom Hollander is in both W&D and P&P3, and did you know Mr. Preston from W&D, was once married to Jane Bennet from the Firth/Ehle P&P, and in fact she was pregnant during the filming, which they tried to hide with shawls and camerawork. ;-) So I guess BBC costume dramas are a family affair!! ;-)

UtGT -- No I have not had that pleasure. I missed it when it was on PBS. Was it any good?

Hi again Anna,

I have never babysat, unfortunately. I don't know anyone to babysit for, and quite frankly I don't think I would be allowed. I adore children, though, and have always wanted to volunteer in the toddler rooms at a church.

Pig intestines?? Oh my. *wrinkles nose* Aren't you arfraid of trichinosis? Give me a pile of chickens anyday!! I take it you make homemade sausages, then.

I love Gods & Generals, and my brother is to blame for my liking a Korean-made film about the Korean War, called Tae Guk Gi, translated to The Brotherhood of War. I like Master & Commander, if the English Navy counts, ;-) and I also have been enjoying the Horatio Hornblower series with my dad. I can't think of anything else at the moment, but I'm sure there are more, for I've probably seen most of them. :-\ Which ones do you like? I bet you've seen your fair share of them as well, with even more boys in the house than me. ;-)

Becoming Jane -- Well, from what I've heard about it, I'm not going to get my hopes up. I'd love a movie about Jane, if it were accurate. This one seems like it's inventing a love story that never happened, and is going to make thwarted love the reason she turned to writing, which is of course a lie. She was writing at 12 or earlier. Plus I do not care for Anne Hathaway, and the fact that she's American irritates me. Aren't there enough talented British actresses to play an English author?? We do have hair dye, for those who are too light-haired. :-\ Oh well. I do think she looks the part, though. The pics I've seen are lovely, but seem to copy the new P&P's style. We'll see. What about you? Are you looking forward to it? And the new ITV productions, or the BBC S&S?

Hi Lauren,

Lovely new icons. Am downloading and saving some now. :) Brilliance!

Pig guts, well, that was interesting, and haven't done it for years. Thank God above!

War movies...LotR all three of them, Narnia, The Last Samurai, King Arthur, (edited), etc....all very enjoyable! :)

Agreed on your thoughts on Becoming Jane. The only redeeming factor shall be James McAvoy--very cute. :) As they say on Austen Blog--I shall enjoy it as a Made Up Story. *grin*

I'm very excited about the new ITV adaptations. Persuasion especially. Have you seen the new trailer on AustenBlog? Thoughts? :)

Have a gorgeous day!

~Anna

Hello again Anna,

Thank you. I'm glad you liked them. Which ones were you referring to might I ask -- I like to know which ones are popular. ;-)

Oh, you like The Last Samurai, eh? My dad has it, and I must say it rather grows on one. ;-) I *love* the costuming, and if you like LotR you must know how brilliant Nglia Dickson is! ;-) My only objection is that Tom Cruise is in it...haha. (no offense if you're a fan!) What do you think of Ken Watanabe?

Made Up Story -- yes indeed. ;-) All the Austenites in the world are then going to have to launch a campaign to inform the general populace that this isn't historically accurate. :-\ Before long everyone will think it's fact.

Yes, yes! Persuasion especially!! Me too, but only because NA2 doesn't sound very promising anymore. (I like NA better than P) but I do think P3 looks very good...I hope hope hope they have the little Walter scene! That would be sweet and poignant, wouldn't you say?

I think I've seen the trailer -- the Winter Season trailer with all the non-Austen shows? Where Henry is picking straw out of Catherine's hair?? (I'm assuming you've seen the trailer I'm referring to -- spoilers if you haven't!) I want to know who was kissing under the trees....it looked like CM and HT to me.

Do you like tea?

Hi Lauren,

I really liked the Daniel Deronda icons. NA, never was my favorite adaptation, but the icons you made were pretty. :)

NA--new version, if they don't make it sensual, I might just like it. Hoping, hoping!

Last Samurai...I don't like Tom Cruise either, but he's fine in Samurai. :) He was decent, sad, etc...I liked his growth. =) Who is Ken Watanabe? *clueless*

Oh yes, the costumes in LotR are gorgeous. I love Galadriel's and Arwen's especially...:)

Oh there is a new trailer up on AustenBlog and the offical ITV sight--that is much better (Without all the clips of other non-austen shows)! Watch it and let me know what you think.

I love tea, Celestial Seasonings has several flavors I like. Orange Spice, Tangerine, yummy. I like fruit flavors. :) And from time to time will have a tea-party with friends and sisters. Raspberry Chocolate Scones are delivious!
Do you?

Hi again Anna,

Glad you liked the icons. I love NA1, may I ask what it is about it that you didn't like? I know most people don't care for it's over-the-top gothic-yness, but I think it's sweet overall. Did the Marchioness have anything to do with your dislike of it?? ;-)

New NA -- yeah, really. :-\ Allegedly Andrew Davies (wrote the Firth/Ehle P&P screenplay, as well as the new ITV NA) originally wanted Darcy to jump into the pond ala natural, but fortunately the filmmakers nixed that one. Hopefully they'll pull the plug on his "additions" to NA2 as well!!

Last Samurai -- TC irritates me, sorry! He always plays himself, IMO. I would have much preferred to see just about anyone else in that role. Ken Watanabe played Katsumoto, the leader of the Samurai?? The guy who liked (and saved) Tom Cruise's character? Taka's brother?

I'll have to see that new preview later. ;-) I have dial up, so if it's a mega download we'll see if I want to wait 40 hours for 30 seconds of JA. ;-)

Yup, tea is great! I love the Harney's teas they sell in Barnes & Noble -- mmm! Lavender Chamomile, Chocolate Mint, and Cinnamon Sunset are all excellent. Plus they come in these fabulous tins.

My mom and I used to do the tea party thing when I was littler. She would even bring out her Princess House china set, and we'd invariably have raspberry tea (my old choice) with Walker's cookies. ;-) Makes me smile to think about it.

Do you like to cross-stitch at all, Anna?

TTYL!

~L. :-)
