1 + 2 = STUPID!

olde_fashionedOn Saturday, while grocery shopping, I noticed a large sign left over from Mother's Day advertising roses. It said that 1 Dozen roses meant 14 stems. :-\ I guess a dozen is no longer 12?
And when we got home, I was sticking my dad's TV dinner in the microwave, and upon reading the packaging for the directions, I saw that it claimed "Ready in 10 minutes!" all over the bag, but the actual heating directions said to cook for 8 minutes, stir, cook for another 3, and then let stand for 5!!! (and just in case any of y'all can't add, 8 + 3 + 5 = 16!!!!!) It's little wonder people in this country are so stupid!! Argh!
Does anyone else find this as excessively diverting as I did? ;-)
