Who wants to venture a guess?
Jan. 19th, 2009 01:11 amForgive me for seemingly cluttering up your flist, but I couldn't resist. All of you costume drama fans, indulge me here for a minute, and pay attention!
While watching the extras on my brother's copy of The Dark Knight, I was astonished to recognize a familiar face. I've taken a few caps for show and tell, so let's see how many of you can guess who he is!(and I'm screening comments only to prevent others from peeking first and then guessing, mwahahahaa...) Very good! Most of you guessed correctly that the person in question is William Houston, better known as Boucher from North & South. ;-) I've unscreened the comments, now.

Obviously if you haven't seen the costume drama in question, you're probably not going to know who this guy is, but I'm going to keep quiet about his name until someone gets it right! ^-^
For the record, the two-disc TDK includes extras filmed like CNN-style news and interviews, only renamed "GCN" for "Gotham City News", and of course, with all the stories pertaining to the theme of Batman. ;-) It's really amusing to watch, but this took the cake. ;-P You can see some of the "breaking news crawl" along the bottom of the screen on the second cap.
If you want to look for yourself, it's under the "Gotham Tonight" section, and the episode/interview entitled "Escalation."

Date: 2009-01-19 10:55 am (UTC)Pity he's uncredited. I know Boucher's role wasn't the biggest and most screen-time-consuming one but it was absolutely unforgettable and heart-wrenching. I think it's a proof of an actor's masterly skills if they appear in but a few scenes but you remember their performance forever.
Thanks a lot for posting! I was dying to know who it was. As you must've been well aware of. :P LOL
Sorry for endless editing... *sheepish*

LOL! Yes, yes, I know. I planned this post on Christmas day, when we watched the extras, but I hadn't gotten around to it....

Date: 2009-02-15 01:53 pm (UTC)I'd be sorry for a writer who didn't have a dream cast, actually. It gives the characters so much more solidity if one can visualise them easily. Mind you, that said, Simon (the character in question) was completely written and finished before I realised who "ought" to play him...
Do you write, then?
have a good week,
best wishes,
Imogen.

If you haven't already. And three-nails' fabulous journal > http://three-nails.livejournal.com/
for all things Casualty 190[*] related (heavy emphasis upon Millais and Ethel!!). Also see:
http://www.pictureaustralia.org/index.html
Type 'Culpin' in to the search dialogue box and hurrah! the real Millais Culpin (et al) is revealed!!! none of Ethel I'm afraid although I do recall seeing one of her surrounded by her family post marriage to Millais. Will post you the link if I find it.
