I've got so many of these, that I thought it would be easier to just do them in installments. Here is Batch 2 -- this time with Henry, as requested. ;-) I have been experimenting with my style, so comments are very welcome!

As usual, do not steal, these are not bases, credit and comment if taking, and enjoy. :-)

Lovely icons, as always!

I forgot to mention to you but have you ever tried Gimp (http://gimp.org/)? I've also used Paint.NET but I prefer Gimp much better, as it has more features and it's free!

Thanks! And to answer your question, no, I have not tried Gimp. I will certainly look into it though! Thanks for the suggestion! May I ask what it does that Paint.NET doesn't?

It has more effects you can do with layers (ie burn, multiply, and others). It also has curves and saturation features I don't think Paint.NET has and you can do animation...which I don't think it can do either.

Paint.NET has a layers option that has burn and multiply features, among others. I use it occaisionally. Now animation is one thing I've yet to learn how to do -- I thought you had to have some special program??

BTW -- All these "brushes" I hear about on resource lists, do you know if they're compatable with Paint.NET?

Sorry if I was being unclear. What I meant by multiply and burn is that I believe Gimp has more of those types of features than Paint.NET...I know they both have multiply but Gimp has 20 different options for layers like multiply while I think Paint has less.

As for animation, Gimp has everything you need. When you download it animation comes with it. Paint.NET doesn't yet have this option.

Brushes are great little tools to use. I use them off and on. It's like text already made for you or a design that you can just "stamp" onto your icon, graphic, etc. Paint.NET also does not yet have this option. I downloaded Gimp after visiting this site which has a ton of tutorials, textures, and brushes I found very useful.

Oh -- now I understand. I think it was rather my own ignorance rather than your being unclear. ;-) Thanks so much for the links! *trots off to download*

I've got to read this book!

*jaw drop* You mean you haven't??? Gasp! ;-) Seriously, you really should. It's excellent, and certainly one of Jane Austen's most under-appreciated novels. The movie is very different from the book, but the book is much better. ;-)

Have you read any JA at all?

Northager Abbey is actually the only Austen novel I haven't read, so it's about time! I love her. (I actually didn't know there was an existing filmed version of NA, either - how is it?)

Okay, just checking. ;-) I'm glad! Which one was your favourite?

I didn't know it either, until a copy turned up at our local library. I for one think it's great, but keep in mind that this particular movie seems to be somewhat polarizing amongst JA fans. It *is* different from the novel, and it stars Peter Firth as the hero, and IMHO he's completely wrong, and some find him kind of creepy. Don't let me scare you away!

OTO, the Gothic-ness of it is rather amusing, despite the really awful '80s music. ;-) The costumes are lovely, and the casting minus PF is very good, especially Catherine and General Tilney (Sir John Middleton from S&S). I love it however, so I guess I am biased!

Have you read any Gaskell?

Hey, I've seen your posts to [livejournal.com profile] bbccostumedrama and decided to check you out. We've good somethings in common. I was wondering if we could friend each other.

Hi!

Thanks for the comment, and as for friending, sure, why not? ;-) I've visited your profile, and we do have a few common interests. (We'd have a lot more if I had the space to elaborate on some of my more trivial likes...)

I see you're into genealogy! I am as well. I find it very rewarding, and I really need to do some more research.

~Lauren :-)

Lovely, as usual! Took 18 and 24. We seem to share a passion for that particular bonnet.

Thank you!! And yes, that is my absolute favourite hat that Catherine wears...;-) It's very flattering, and brings out her pretty blue eyes. :-)

I'm inexplicably drawn to #19... I think I have to see this movie to legitimize my taking it... oh who are we kidding? *yoink*

Ha ha!! You're too funny! ;-) I'm glad you liked it. The place they filmed NA1 was a castle, rather than an abbey, but it still looks neat. ;-)

If you liked Lady Jane you'd probably like NA1. ;-)

Lovely, simply lovely! I really like your cropping and coloring. 1, 3, 6-14, 18, 21-23, 25, 27, and 32 are my favorites. Great job!
