Don't. Laugh. You all are going to think I'm crazy wacko, but since this is my blog, I'm doing it anyway. ;-) "Despise me if you dare..."

Yesterday we went shopping, and of course I just had to check out the shoes...haha. They had some Skechers on sale (Bikers Luxe in black) that I've wanted since they came out last year, and my wonderful brother bought them for me! He's such an angel -- well he's so sweet anyway, not just when he buys me shoes! ;-) Here is a pic for those of you who care: click for pic

I wear mostly black anyway, and they have great support and are comfortable, so these will be very practical. They're kind of like a cross between ballet flats and running shoes, and they're rather flattering to my feet, which is always to be desired. ;-) Strangely enough, I had to go down a size from my usual 10. I guess these must run really large, or my feet shrunk overnight!! ;-)

In other news, we made it to the Friends of the Library bookstore today, and bought a stack of books. You can't beat magazines for a quarter and books for $1-2 dollars! I got a two-volume set of The Complete Sherlock Holmes to build up my Sherlockian collection, Sanctuary by Beverly Lewis which I read years ago and loved for some odd reason, and a couple old doll magazines. Like I need more stuff to read.

My brother Spencer had his usual mountain of knowledge to purchase, and it took both of us to carry it to the desk. ;-) You should have seen the librarian's eyes bug out of her head when she saw us!!

Hi again Anna,

Looks like we're on at the same time. ;-)

Lots of people dislike NA, so that's okay. ;-) I don't like Peter Firth at all either; he and that Marchioness are the worst parts about it.

Yes I read the new interview...I still think he's a stuck up snob. "I'm posh"??? Gimme a break.

An uncle or a great uncle?? ;-) My g-grandfather died after the war, also.

I'm going to post some W&D notes later in the GR comm. If you want to join I'll try to approve you ASAP, 'kay? ;-)

Hi Lauren,

So glad that our dislike for NA doesn't affect our friendship. *lol* Peter Firth was just weird. *shudder* Too intense.

A great uncle, lol, you are right. *grin*

Looking forward to reading the notes. I've joined.

Persuasion--the kissing scene sounds promising, in an amusing way, eh? :)

LOL!! Peter Firth is one of my main objections to that movie, so I think our mutual dislike of him would be more apt to increase our getting along, rather than diminish it. ;-) I think he's creepy, and anyone who's read the novel can tell he's physically wrong for the part of the dashing dark-haired Henry. ;-)

As for his being too old, how do you feel about Mr. Knightley from Emma, or Colonel Brandon from S&S?

Do you mind my asking what was your g-uncle's name? Just curious. :-)

I know you've joined -- I've approved you. ;-) I'll try to post some interesting things as soon as I can -- I've got a hectic day ahead of me.

Do you mean if they're soaking we atop the Cobb, then maybe it would be interesting. ;-) I fear I'm rather beginning to dislike this RPJ, so we'll see if he can redeem himself with his acting abilities and his lightness of foot, since he evidently doesn't trip over tea tables. :-/ I hated the kissing scene in the Root/Hinds Persuasion -- how un-romantic is a circus?!
