Don't. Laugh. You all are going to think I'm crazy wacko, but since this is my blog, I'm doing it anyway. ;-) "Despise me if you dare..."
Yesterday we went shopping, and of course I just had to check out the shoes...haha. They had some Skechers on sale (Bikers Luxe in black) that I've wanted since they came out last year, and my wonderful brother bought them for me! He's such an angel -- well he's so sweet anyway, not just when he buys me shoes! ;-) Here is a pic for those of you who care: click for pic
I wear mostly black anyway, and they have great support and are comfortable, so these will be very practical. They're kind of like a cross between ballet flats and running shoes, and they're rather flattering to my feet, which is always to be desired. ;-) Strangely enough, I had to go down a size from my usual 10. I guess these must run really large, or my feet shrunk overnight!! ;-)
In other news, we made it to the Friends of the Library bookstore today, and bought a stack of books. You can't beat magazines for a quarter and books for $1-2 dollars! I got a two-volume set of The Complete Sherlock Holmes to build up my Sherlockian collection, Sanctuary by Beverly Lewis which I read years ago and loved for some odd reason, and a couple old doll magazines. Like I need more stuff to read.
My brother Spencer had his usual mountain of knowledge to purchase, and it took both of us to carry it to the desk. ;-) You should have seen the librarian's eyes bug out of her head when she saw us!!

Date: 2007-03-04 12:36 am (UTC)You can also find really cute shoes at REI. I think I'm obsessed with that store. Even though they have mostly outdoorsy stuff, they DO have awesome shoes, even ones similar to the Sketchers you bought.
Hehehehe, I didn't go to the book store or library today, though. My parents left for a trip to Israel this morning, so I went to their house and stole books. Mwahahhahahahahaha!
Dang. I need a brother like yours to buy me shoes.

Date: 2007-03-04 01:09 am (UTC)Your brother lives in Huntington beach?? Whereabouts, if you don't mind my asking -- you can do the delete-comment trick, if you want.
I can't remember going into an REI, but thanks for the heads up.
You stole books? My goodness, I hope you'll return them...;-) Your parents certainly are brave to go to the Middle East this day in age!!
*smiles* I love my brother!!! (emphasis on the MINE...) ;-)

Date: 2007-03-04 01:16 am (UTC)My brother lives on Warner Ave. near Edwards St.
REI is awesome. They make me happy.
Well . . . technically I "permanently borrow" the books. Hee hee hee. I'm not too worried about the parents, they'll be staying away from particularly dangerous areas. I do think that the news tends to really hype the stuff that happens there.
I love my brother too. He's awesome. (I love both my brothers, hehe.)

I'm glad you love your brother(s) -- too many sisters hate their brothers. :-(

Date: 2007-03-04 01:26 am (UTC)You could just look it up on Google Maps if you want to see where it is. :-)
Haha, I don't necessarily LIKE them all the time, but I always love them!

Date: 2007-03-04 01:45 am (UTC)Ha! We've certainly fought our fair share, but I've never hated him. He sure loves to tease me, though. I tease him too, but you know how it is with brothers, bugs, and sisters. ;-)
