For the record, I am utterly opposed to Harry Potter and other books involving and glorifying witchcraft. THIS is a link to Doug Phillips' blog, that explains the dangers of Harry Potter much better than I ever could.

Thank you for posting that link. It was a really interesting article.

I did note his remarks about Willow in Buffy and the girls in The Craft showing witchcraft as 'harmless'. Still when he wrote this in 2001, Willow hadn't descended into near madness from her experiences and perhaps he hadn't taken on board the cautionary aspects of The Craft.

I'll look up his other articles on LotR too.

Well I've loved Tolkien's work since I read The Hobbit in childhood and then The Lord of the Rings later on.

Of the three books, The Fellowship of the Ring is my favourite and that is the same for the films. I enjoy the parts in the Shire as well as the journey of the Fellowship.
