Vigee Le Brun and Italian lady icons
Jul. 8th, 2007 10:13 pm34 icons: 22 of the artwork of Elizabeth Vigee Le Brun and 12 of some Vintage Italian lady coasters of mine. I think these are Vintage, but sadly the ones for March and December have been lost. :-( As for the Vigee Le Brun icons, I just couldn't get enough of her artwork! Some of the costumes depicted are vasilate between late-Georgian and Regency. I love her choice of colors!

Date: 2007-07-09 09:15 pm (UTC)Oooh, tough question! I rather like both, but not many people are going to understand what a chemise a la reine is, so maybe 1780s fashions are better?
Unless you want one really really looooonnng banner, I can't fit all of those paintings. Would it be okay if I picked 5 or 6? (or you could tell me your favourites)

Date: 2007-07-09 09:29 pm (UTC)Addictive? Who says we're addicted to anything? I just thought we were obsessed!! HAHA!

Date: 2007-07-10 12:01 am (UTC)It's not too late -- I haven't started it yet! I'm not that fast, silly!!
Thank you for the kind offer! I'll certainly let you know if I think of something. Thanks! :-)

Date: 2007-07-09 11:59 pm (UTC)Why, no one! I don't know any obsessed people, do you? *peers at f-list and pauses* Nope! No fashion-fanatics to be found! ;-P
Oooh, I've a few that I like to get from the library, and some Dover handbooks on the shelf at home. I should type up a list for you later!
I love that book you linked, though!!

Date: 2007-07-10 05:38 am (UTC)Yes, and handy references, too. Masterpieces of Women's Costume is a good one, and they even have the patterns for you. Tom Tierney's paperdolls are fun for ideas... since he's not always 100% accurate.
By Norah Waugh? I think that's the one that I really love. Is that the one with all the sketches?
No! Yet another gem from you. Thank you! (like I need to waste more time making icons! Ack!)

Date: 2007-07-10 06:02 am (UTC)I've sketched some out of that. It's easier for me to sketch a sketch than to sketch a photo. :-)
ROTFLOL!!!! You're funny!
