So yours truly is now a bit of a sci-fi convert. Courtesy of my brother, I'm learning that science fiction doesn't have to always be space ships, aliens, and phasers.

My family has been going through a whole slew of things (some of which you might have guessed from my recent poll), including but not limited to:
  • the new Battlestar Galactica (OMG so good!!)
  • the old Battlestar Galactica (OMG so bad!!!)
  • Blade Runner (nice costumes and music)
  • Firefly (yuck)
  • The Matrix (double yuck)
  • Gattaca (interesting concept)
  • Jericho (very realistic and actually could probably happen)
  • The Road (grim but well done)
  • The Book of Eli (REALLY good)
  • the Terminator series (Terminator: Salvation is the best)
  • Tron and Tron: Legacy (visual appealing much?)
  • recently started Primeval (loads of fun and really growing on me)

Generally whenever I discover something new, I also learn that someone I already know already likes at least a few of those things that are new to me. Does anyone else find themselves enjoying costume dramas and science fiction? ;)

May I suggest Connie Willis' time travel novels, especially To Say Nothing of the Dog?
Also: hi there! I am a complete stranger who stumbled across you and friended you. I hope you don't mind.

Thanks for the recommendation!

It's not a problem; I get randomly friended often due to my graphics. ;) Feel free!
