Computer Question...

olde_fashionedI have a question for the technologically astute among you. My computer came with Microsoft Works. Does that include Microsoft Word, or not? And if it doesn't, would I be able to open a Word attachment, and could another person with Word be able to view an attached Works file with their Word software? What exactly is the difference between Word and Works?
