Painting of the Week
Nov. 28th, 2008 05:33 pmA much earlier gown this time, with a bit of an autumn flavour to it. ;-) My favourite aspect of this one is the blackwork on her chemise!
Feel free to discuss and/or drool! ;-P

I love her eyes, I also really love her hat (or headband? headpiece? whatever it's called). I also looove the collar (with the black embroidery). She just looks so real!

By the way, do you know of any website where I could get a classic paintings calendar? I have enjoyed all the year a special calendar I bought at El Prado about their exposition of the XIX century and I would want another similar for the next year.

Date: 2008-12-01 10:20 pm (UTC)I only knew about Raimundo de Madrazo y Garreta -- he's the son, then? I didn't realize there was a whole family of Madrazo painters! Federico isn't coming up in the search I tried, do you have a link with some of his work?
I've never bought a calender online, but I would guess that Amazon would sell them. I bought my art calenders at Barnes & Noble, but Borders has them too. If you're brave enough to wait until after Christmas, you can get them cheap! ;-P
