A batch of The Phantom of the Opera icontest entries for poto_stillness and rossum_stills. The vast majority are from the movie with Emmy Rossum and Gerard Butler, but there are a couple stage icons too. ;-)

I haven't seen the movie, so I can't compare. But the show was pretty fantastic. The special effects were great, and the music and sets and acting--it was really impressive. And I typically don't like opera at all, so there you go. :)

Yeah, it was. But I think anyone who watches the 2004 POTO has to admit that is a bit corny,(although I love it now) at least that was my first impression viewing it. :D

I'll be the first to point out the flaws, including in things that I like. I can only go by the movie, but I do think PotO has a sort of "detached reality" and yes, some things are rather lame, lol. It's not a "serious" movie, but that's also part of the fun. It's an escape, I think. :-)

Oh how lovely! Phantom is one of my most favorite of musicals :D I went to the andrew lloyd webber birthday party concert in hyde park with my phantom mask on like a crazy person :P yay for 'phan'girls :P
