Wives & Daughters: Wallpaper, Friends Only Banners, and Icons

Another perennial favourite of mine is Wives & Daughters. I guess I've been in the mood for Gaskell lately, and it's easy to forget how good Molly and Roger go together this series is. ;-D

Twenty-two icons this time, mostly of Molly, a couple of Cynthia, Lady Harriet (who totally rocks, in my very humble opinion) and a few of Roger Hamley. I also made a wallpaper and matching friends only banner, with complimentary icons.

Okay! I haven't seen this, but I've gone ahead and made the ever-ready list.

1, 3, 12 - crop and color, 11 - hat!, 13 and 14 - crops (isn't that Bessy/Miss Austen?), 19 - (my favorite of the batch) texture and composition, 21 - texture, color and text.

Btw: Looking at your interests in film and novels, have you seen the movies Love Comes Softly and the follow up Loves Enduring Promise? They were written by Janette Oke i think, and the themes radiate with love but also religion and faith. You might enjoy them!

I know I know! I might have put it in our Netflix already. I'm thinking I'll cheat and see the movie and then determine if I want to read a book, since you mentioned it's like MP so I might have to keep the movie in memory to get through it.

Yes, I've read all the books and I've seen all four of the movies that were out at the time. Love Comes Softly wasn't bad, but I thought Love's Enduring Promise was the very best. I didn't like #s 3 and 4, and I'm not interested in #5.

I did it that way, only because I discovered Gaskell by catching the middle and end of the series one day on PBS.

Out of all JA's novels MP is the most comprable in terms of storyline to W&D, but W&D is nowhere near as opressive as MP is. ;-) Plus the hero is waaay better than Edmund Bertram!!
