I never knew these things existed! They are wonderfully fun.

That's a nice sweater you have on there, Nathan! Maybe my Regency doll can borrow it when you're done?

Haha, You'll have to take that up with my friend's mom--the sweater's rightful owner. :-P

LOL! What is it, pink camo?

lol, Not quite. It's more of a splotchy pink, but I imagine it could pass for camo in the right setting. ;-)

I had a ball playing with that thing. I hope she makes more!

No, because I was trying to make it look somewhat like me, and what I would wear. HERE (http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p153/olde_fashioned/regencydoll_me.jpg)

I know this will sound like a dumb question, but how did you download the image? I can't quite seem to click the right thing. (help)

That's what I did too. I must confess, though, that it took me a while to figure it out!

Me, three! I couldn't get the code to work, either.

Although if you save it as a JPEG rather than a PNG the quality goes down. ;-)

It does indeed. I save everything as I do as a PNG for that very reason.

But we saved ours as JPEG, and they look just fine! You did save yours as JPEG, right?

Date: 2008-03-03 05:05 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] olde-fashioned.livejournal.com
Yes, I did save that first one as a JPEG, but it's still not as crystal-clear as a PNG would have been. Here is another one I made, saved as both a PNG and a 100% quality JPEG. Tell me if you see a difference.

PNG (http://s127.photobucket.com/albums/p153/olde_fashioned/?action=view&current=regencydoll_3.png) vs. JPEG (http://s127.photobucket.com/albums/p153/olde_fashioned/?action=view&current=regencydoll_3-1.jpg)

Oh, hm, yes. I see a very slight difference in the coloring. The coloring of the JPEG is a bit duller than the PNG, particularly with the headbands. I wonder if that's why the colors of my icons never save correctly. (I can't save them as PNG, though, in Photoshop.) I always have to take the contrast up a bit more than I want to take it in hopes of having the coloring not be so dull after I save the icon.

Well, if you copy and paste both images as layers exactly on top of each other, then toggle the top layer off and on, you'll be able to see how much sharper and cleaner-looking the PNG is.

Using JPEGs is kind of like cross-your-fingers-and-pray-they-stay-nice! *lol*

I still don't see much, other than the brightness/dullness of the colors, which I see most in her hair and headbands. But maybe it's because I'm on a laptop rather than a desktop computer.

True, it is a bit like crossing your fingers and hoping they stay nice. (: Though, I don't usually have too many problems. I just wish Photoshop would let me save images as PNG. I don't know why it doesn't. *Pouts*

Oh well. Maybe it is your laptop, maybe I'm too picky. ;-P

WHAT?!!? PS doesn't allow PNGs??? Are you sure?

Not as far as I can tell. Unless there's a different name for it...? These are the options I see:

):

PS. You'll notice I saved that as PNG. But I used my "Preview" program. Maybe I should just settle on a different program for icons, heh.

Hmm. Will it let you type in "whatever.png" where you give the file a name? That's how I have to do mine. It's default setting is to JPG but I just change it.

From: [identity profile] olde-fashioned.livejournal.com
It's not a program -- if you hold CTRL and press PRINT SCREEN that should capture whatever's on your screen, and then you can crop away the extra stuff with whatever you use as a graphic editor, and upload it onto your hosting site. :-)

Eehh...she's imaginary. Though she's pretty close to what my ideal would be. (I'm on the plus aize).

I have longer hair, and I wish we could have changed the colors around more but, her physical coloring is pretty similar: [fair] skinned; [dark blonde] hair, light [aqua] eyes. And I usually imagine my fictional character as wearing a red headband so I thought it was neat that they had one.
