Icontest Icons: Art, fashion plates, Regency and the 18th Century

A miscellaneous batch of art and fashion icons that I made for various icontests that I participate in. These are mainly from the Colonial, Regency, Napoleonic, eras, with a few other eras thrown in for good measure. As always, my icons are not bases, please credit/comment if taking, and enjoy!

These are gorgeous, as usual!

I had to laugh when I saw #1, because the people that I'm housesitting for have an 18th/19th century military-themed formal living room (which is much more elegant than it sounds), and they have an oil of that exact painting. It's one of the first things I see when I come down the stairs every morning. So now, of course, I have to take the icon. =)

Also, can I ask what your sources are? There's a particular reproduction portrait of a British or French (can't tell which, exactly) officer that I cannot identify and it's driving me crazy. I'm trying to figure out where to look for the original.

Ooooohhhh, I rather that idea!! 8-) It sounds very elegant, IMO. I wouldn't mind doing something similar, someday.

I use chiefly the Art Renewal Center (www.artrenewal.org) but since all of these icons were for icontests I didn't gather the original images myself.

If you could show me the image that you're looking for, I might be able to help you out. That's happened so many countless times to me, that I completely understand how frustrating it is!

You should do some wallpapers! I'd love to see how you deal with a larger canvas.
