Okay! The easiest way to do this, is to right-click the icon you want to use and get the URL -- in this case the holly is http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p153/olde_fashioned/Old-fashioned%20lady%20icons/hollly.png

You can copy and paste this into the proper URL box in LJ's userpic uploading area, and then after uploading it you should have one in your userpics for your own use. Does this help?

If you want to save it to your harddrive, you just right-click the image itself, and click "save picture as", giving it a name and extention (.png gives the highest quality) and save it in a folder.
