Because [livejournal.com profile] janeausten asked me to do this, you may blame her for my stupid answers. ;-)

The Rules: Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things/little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you need to choose 10 people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks.

1. I used to play the piano. We even used to have one when I was little, but I gave it up, because I didn't like to practice, and I didn't like the made-up, nonsensical songs I was given to learn. :-( Now I regret it, because I love music so much.

2. I used to hate history. It used to be boring, because I thought it was just dry facts and meaningless dates, but G.A. Henty changed all that. ;-) Now I'm unstoppable!! Mwhahahahaaaa!!!

3. I have never been asked out, gone on a date, held hands, or kissed anyone ever. And that's just they way I want it. I will never go out on a date, and I only want to hold hands with one man, and I want my first kiss to be at the altar.

4. I am dresses/skirts only. Meaning, I do not wear pants. (This is for religious reasons, since I do not believe it is Biblical for women to wear pants or shorts, which are, IMHO, basically men's clothing.) Deuteronomy 22:5 is one of the many verses supporting this.

5. I am/was completely homeschooled. Yup, that's right. I've never even so much as seen the inside of a public school. Surprised?

6. I collect Breyer model horses, and I re-paint the smaller ones as well. I'm not going to tell you how many I have, though...

7. I can't drive. I don't even have a learner's permit yet!

8. I still live at home with my parents and brother. Laugh at me if you will, but I don't believe in women living by themselves, unless they have no other options.

9. I've always wanted a horse and/or riding lessons, but living in the city, I'm lucky I've ridden the 3 times that I have. That never stopped me from buying up all the horse books I could get my hands on, though!!

10. (This one is really stupid, because I ran out of ideas) My favorite color is somewhat of a difficult question for me. I love colors, and I enjoy using them. If I had to choose, though, I would say green, but white for decorating, (my room is kind of Shabby Chic meets primitive), and black for clothing.

And I hereby tag:

This is getting weird. I, too, was homeschooled and have a collection of Breyer horses. (They were banished to a shelf in my closet when I left for college.)

Did you have American Girl dolls by any chance?

Oh, and I forgot to mention. The Edmund Blair Leighton painting you have as your background? I have it as a poster--it's been hanging in my bedroom for years.

Really? That's neat! I adore this painting. It's so intrinsically romantic, and chivalrous. It just evokes such beautiful ideas of kings and queens, knights and ladies, of when men were good and brave, and women were gentle and feminine. *sigh* It just begs to tell a story...but then again, maybe it already does.

I wish I was homeschool, but then I wouldn't be who I am.. ah, well. I could go without the names and trip ups though. And the eople who don't care about their own education.. that's a set down too.

Aw, I'm sorry. But you know, God knew what he was doing when he put you in whatever school you went to. He knew how you would turn out, and He loves you even if you weren't homeschooled.

My friend (inkless) sent me the link to your journal, saying the owner thereof reminded her of someone. I think she may have meant me... ;)

~I've played piano since age five, and love music as well.
~Love history, too.
~I also want my first kiss to be part of my wedding.
~I really enjoy dressing in a distinctly feminine manner.
~Was completely home-schooled until I started college this fall (my parent's desire, not mine!).
~I have a few Breyer horses in my rather large herd, but most are older Grand Champion horses.
~Didn't get my driver's license until I was 18 (am 21 now).
~Still live at home.
~Don't get to ride much, and no horse of my own (yet).
~If I could re-decorate my room, I'd do it in a lighter green, with white as the accent color.
~I also enjoy Jane Austen, period costumes (esp. Regency), Vision Forum, LAF, reading and many other things on your interests list! :)

Hello Amy!

I'm tickled that you took the time to say hi -- especially since we seem to have so much in common! I read your profile also, and practically every single thing that you have in your interests, I would put in mine, if I had enough room. ;-)

I really don't know where to start, we have so many things to talk about! ;-)

I am 20, am "dresses only" and still live at home, but then you probably already know that! Before I got into Breyers, I collected GC horses like mad, and I still have my favorites boxed away. What are some of your favorite models?

Oooh, my room is mostly white, since we repainted 2 summers ago. I had a tough time choosing a color -- a terra verde/vintage 1930s green, or white, white, white, or white? Hmmm... ;-) You'd be amazed at how many different shades of white I had to choose from!

What is your favorite Jane Austen novel? What else do you like to read? Have you ever read any Christian fiction, or Robinson Crusoe?

~Lauren :-)

Hmm, my favorite GC model is probably the grey Arabian mare I sent in Blue Ribbon points to get. Her name is Kamira, and she came with a red ribbon halter. I never played with her much, because I knew if she got broken, I wouldn't be able to replace her. :)

My favorite Jane Austen novel is Pride and Prejudice. I've read parts of Persuasion and Emma, but I haven't had much chance lately for leisure reading, unfortunately.

I also look forward to talking with you more. God bless!

~Amy~

You aren't going to believe me when I tell you that I got that model too! I always saved up the points, and I sent away for a good many models, including the gray Arab mare, whom I named Swift. I still have her, as well as her red ribbon neck collar. I kept all the little cardboard cards, too. My favorite model was the light gray (white) Trakehner mare.

P&P and Emma are probably tied for first place with me. ;-) I've been too busy to read recently, too, but I did just get a few chapters read in Medieval Warfare. ;-)
