For the record, I am utterly opposed to Harry Potter and other books involving and glorifying witchcraft. THIS is a link to Doug Phillips' blog, that explains the dangers of Harry Potter much better than I ever could.

Date: 2007-07-26 07:06 am (UTC)I'm going to jump in here. I feel that olde_fashioned has been quite courageous in expressing exactly why she is against the Potter books. I am sure she was aware it would be a controversial stand with some of her readers.
She is very clear in her userinfo about her religious beliefs and this was something I knew before I friended her icon journal. While our spiritual backgrounds and points of view on topics such as this may differ, we still share a love of many things.

Date: 2007-07-27 09:07 pm (UTC)Musesong,
I sincerely appreciate the fact that you disagree with me and yet you have chosen to defend my stance. That says a lot about you as a person, and I respect you for that. So thank you. :-D
Micalela,
Hopefully without sounding redundant of what Musesong has already said to you, I am very honest about my beliefs in my profile, and my journal is not friends-only. Anyone is welcome to read the entries I post here and decide whether or not to friend me. I am not asking you to change *your* views, so why are you asking me to change mine or my method of declaring them? No one is forcing you to believe the way I or other Christians do. We're simply expressing our God-given right and Constitutionally protected freedom of speech.
As for hypocrisy I am not aware what you are referring to -- if I have been seemingly inconsistent or unclear on some point I would be happy to clarify it for you.
Anyway, I don't believe in luck, so I will say Godspeed to you and I wish you a good life.
