This song is called Something Beautiful by the Newsboys. I haven't heard a song I liked this much in a long time. It's upbeat, fun, and touching. I suspect it's a song about waiting for true love and saving yourself for your wedding day. The lyrics are so sweet!

Newsboys - Something Beautiful Lyrics

I wanna start it over
I wanna start again
I want a new a new beginning
One without any end
I feel it inside
Calling out to me

CHORUS
It's a voice that whispers my name
It's a kiss without any shame
Something beautiful
Like a song that stirs in my head
Singing love will take us where
Something's beautiful

I've heard it in the silence
Seen it on a face
I've felt it in a long hour
Like a sweet embrace
I know this is true
It's calling out to me

CHORUS
It's a voice that whispers my name
It's a kiss without any shame
Something beautiful
Like a song that stirs in my head
Singing love will take us where
Something's beautiful

It's the child on her wedding day
It's the daddy that gives her away--Father
Something beautiful
When we laugh so hard we cry
It's the love between you and I
Something beautiful

Hmm, there's a Great Big Sea song called "Something Beautiful" too. It's also a really good song!

I'm not familiar with them, I'm afraid!

They're from Newfoundland. They're AWESOME.

Here are the lyrics:

Hey you, you lost your only friend
You can't believe you're broken heart will ever mend
But every mountain has its faces that'd make you want to stop
On this so unwelcome journey from the bottom to the top.

Move along
I believe there's Something Beautiful to see
Move along
I believe there's Something Beautiful
Just waiting for you and me

I know you'll never count the tears you've cried
Though you've asked a million questions
No one could tell you why
A single soul is chosen to be the one put to the test
But there will be some consolation for a heart that never rests

The years will make us older
The winters make us colder
And there's one more thing I've come to know for sure
There's no bitterness that smolders, no chip on any shoulder
That a random act of kindness couldn't cure

Hey you, you lost your only friend
You can't believe you're broken heart will ever mend
But every mountain has its faces that'd make you want to stop
On this so neverending journey from the bottom to the top.

That is a beautiful song.I am glad you posted the words so I could get them all.

How have you been? It has been awhile since I have seen you post,or maybe I haven't been on for awhile.:)

I'm glad you liked it! I can't stop listening to it, really. :-D

I've been pretty good, thanks for asking! Are you not counting icon posts? Because I did one on the 19th. ;-)

Wow, I never heard that version of the song! I love the original even more, but this one was pretty nice too. It must be the new "mainstream" radio version. Glad you posted it. :-)

Actually, the person who put it on YouTube said in the comments that they changed it a little, so that might be what is different. I don't know what you're hearing, though. The radio version that I've heard doesn't have as much of the music without lyrics -- in other words, they chop it. ;-)

I enjoyed that song.I hadn't heard of the song or group before. The video was nice too.

A blogger I read made a video you might like.If you go to youtube, type in proverbs 31 maidens. It's proverbs 31 in pictures.

Really? The Newsboys are from Australia and have been around since 1985, I've learned. If you scare easily you might not want to look at a photo of them...but what can I say? Some of their songs are fantastic. Try Million Pieces, He Reigns, Shine, and Blessed Be Your Name. The latter should have Rebecca St. James as a guest vocal, and she tours with them constantly.

Thank you! I loaded it and watched it, and it was very pretty. So you know one of the girls who made it? (that is if you don't mind my asking)

I will check them out online. Thanks for the information.I have heard of Rebecca St James. The music I listen to is traditional country and some folk.Through some blogs I have found some bluegrass/gospel music stations online.

I don't know them.Anna and Miriam's blog is one I read regularly.I only came across blogs last October when I found the YLCF.

My Christian name is Robert.

You're welcome! If you get a chance you should really check out Rebecca's song Wait For Me -- it's fantastic.

I used to listen to country music on the radio, a long time ago. But anymore I pretty much keep to Christian and classical.

What is the YLCF?? *puzzles*

*smacks forehead* Yeah, I suppose I could have figured that out by your username...but for some reason I thought you were a girl...forgive me!!! :-\

I googled Wait For Me and I found the video on youtube.I agree,it's a great song.I was also able to find the lyrics. It's like Something Beautiful-waiting for true love.Rebecca St James also wrote a book called Wait For Me.

The YLCF is Young Ladies Christian Fellowship. The website is www.ylcf.org There are articles posted by several writers and they have a section of quotes and courtship stories.

On a another LJ I found the website www.oldchristianradio.com

Not many males watch Jane Austen, so I understand you might of assumed I was a female.Or, as some bloggers say,it was a "Blonde Moment" *smile*

I'm glad you took the time to look it up -- it's become almost a craze now, and almost a marketing ploy since others have taken her idea and run away with it, but I still think it's wonderful. I respect her tremendously for it.

Thank you for the link. I recognize the courtship page from once before, so I guess I just didn't realize they were the same group. I love sites like that and there are precious few of them.

That's true! My brother does, but that's probably because he couldn't avoid them even if he wished to, the rate I go. ;-P I've even managed to get him to read P&P! But I hope you weren't offended, since I'm sure I wouldn't know what to think if someone believed I was a man.

Blonde Moment, yes indeed! But I'm not a blonde, so hopefully I won't have very many more of them. :-)

Wait For Me reminds me of the song Waiting For My Dearie from Brigadoon.

I wasn't offened by what you thought.Since most of your readers are female and my comments were general ones, it would make sense for you to think I was a female.

You should be pretty safe since your not a blonde. :-)

Yet another topic upon which I am ignorant! Who is Brigadoon?

Good! Thanks for being so forgiving.

That's good to know! ;-P I'd much rather have darker hair, or even red.

Brigadoon is a 1954 musical with Gene Kelly.I haven't seen it but I have heard the soundtrack from the library. Here are the lyric's to Waiting For My Dearie:

"Many a lassie,as eveyone knows,will
try to be married before twent-five.
So,she'll agree to most any proposal,
All he must be is a man and alive.

I hold a dream,and there's no compromising,
I know there's one certain laddie for me.
One day he'll come, walking over the horizon.
But should he not, than an old maid I'll be.

Foolish,you may say.Foolish I will stay.
Waiting for my dearie, and happy am I,
To hold my heart till he comes strolling by.
When he comes,my dearie, one look and I'll know,
That he's the dearie I've been wanting so.
Though I live forty lives till the day he arrives,
I'll not ever,ever grieve.
For my hopes will be high, that he'll come strolling by,
For you see,I believe.
That there's a laddie weary,and wandering free,
Who's waiting for his dearie,Me!"

I found the song in a blog post I came across.

I agree that red hair beats blonde hair!

What a cute song! Thanks for the lyrics. I don't watch many musicals so that'd explain why I've never heard of it. I do like the Sound of Music, though, hence the header text. ;-)

Does that mean *you* have red hair? *grin*

I haven't watched too many musicals.I like The Sound of Music-I thought your header text was from that movie.I also like Fiddler on the Roof.It has good music-My favorite songs are Sunrise,Sunset and Far from The Home I Love.

My hair is brown.I prefer red(or brown)hair over blonde hair :-) though many would disagree. The YLCF has a section of quotes on red hair and freckles.

I've never seen FotR. Like I said, I don't really care for musicals. I much prefer costume dramas!

You like Jane Austen. Have you seen the Kate Beckinsale/Mark Strong Emma yet? (KB is in my icon)

Blondes may have more fun, but redheads are remembered! ;-P (I did a few redheaded icons; if you want to see they're under the "redheads" tag)

I haven't seen either Emma yet.I want to see the movie as I have read about it on some blogs. From what I've read, the Kate Beckinsale version is the better one.Do you prefer that one? That's a nice icon.

That's a true quote! I took the number 19 redhead icon.Have you seen the Anne of Green Gables films?

I noticed that you have done several 1995 Pride and Prejudice icons.I will look through them and let you know which one's I take.

You're correct -- the Kate Beckinsale version is by far truer to the book, and both casting and acting are better IMO. Yes, I prefer that one! ;-)

I love Anne of Green Gables!

Okay -- thank you!

My favourite part is the "kiss without any shame." That sounds like a first kiss at a wedding, IMVHO!
