Icons: Horses, Artwork, & George Stubbs

Another batch of icons, and this time I have indulged my inner equestrienne. ;-) Most of these are horse-related, but I've thrown in a few random paintings of lovely ladies in pretty dresses. :-P
{~} 1-22 are photographs of horses, mostly Bob Langrish and horses-photos.org stock (hey, a pun!)
{~} 23-32 are from paintings by George Stubbs; right-click to see the names of the paintings.
{~} 33-43 are of various women in art, including some by Waterhouse, Edmund Blair Leighton, Lord Frederick Leighton, Vigee Le Brun, and Van Dyck. Again, right-click to see the URL's and names.
~ Comment/credit if taking (and please tell me which number you're using, since I've been experimenting with my styles and I'd like to know what you like)
~ No altering/stealing/hotlinking

I use this website (http://madzia.ircx.net.pl/icontable/) since I'm not good enough to have all that code memorized. ;-) To choose all my colors, I use this site. (http://www.htmlgoodies.com/tutorials/colors/article.php/3478961) Check out their non-dithering colors too!
Who is that in your icon? I know it's not Olivia de Havilland...

Actually, this is quite the segue into a question that I've wanted to ask for a while, but worried about sounding rude or nosey or some other bad descriptive. I saw on your info about how you wear only skirts (a very interesting and cool idea, I must say). Well, I have a tendency to wonder about the technicalities and specifics of things, so it didn't take me long before I started wondering if, in the case of something that required pants, such as horseback riding at most places, would you wear them? I hope I don't sound like I'm belittling your choices or lifestyle or ideologies or whatever. I'm just curious!

Date: 2008-06-22 09:27 pm (UTC)Ah! No no no -- I don't mind at all! :-D Really, I don't. I'm quite happy to answer any questions that you may have, if I am capable of it. (and please feel free to ask me any manner of question that you like -- I can, after all, refuse if needs be, lol) ;-)
I would do what the women who have gone before me did. There are sidesaddles, of course, but that is hardly practical nowadays. If I were to go riding I would wear a split skirt, or culottes, which is basically a pair of pants only the legs are reallyreally full like a skirt. That is not manly attire by any stretch of the imagination! ;-D
And I never for a moment thought you were trying to belittle me. I'm a curious person, too! :-)
