Apparently it's official: Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle, and Tom Hardy is playing Bane. [source]

I'm not at all happy about the choice of Anne Hathaway (really...why HER???), but I can't deny being very pleased indeed at my ideal combination of villains since day one!!! :D :D :D So that tickles me, mwahaha...I'm trying to remind myself that Nolan knows what he's doing in regards to AH (OMG same intials as Adam Hughes!!), but we shall seeeee...

Nolan has a slight way of whipping actors into shape. Perhaps we'll be surprised by Hathaway, but I agree... meeeeeeeh :[

I think it largely depends on the perspective Nolan takes on the character.

I wasn't keen on it when I first heard it. I have faith in him and I'm thinking he's going to focus more on Selina than her alter ego. I'd be highly surprised if she even in a cat suit early on in the film, if that. I remember Michelle's Selina being kind of nerdy at the beginning and maybe he's going at it from that angle. Not going for the obvious choice. Like we expected somebody who looks like a Marion Cotillard or Angelina Jolie. Maybe she'll be a mousy, insecure geek by day, in control seductress by night. I'm at least glad he is actually doing Catwoman since she's a big part of his life, compared to Vicki Vale at least. Anne kind of has the sweet girl next door thing that Rachel Dawes had so that might be part of Bruce's allure to her. He'd never expect this cute brunette being Catwoman.

Anne would not be my first choice but at least it's not Megan Fox. I keep telling myself the casting could have been way worse.

But I'm still pretty confused by all of this. What was Nolan thinking with Hathaway? But then again, Heath Ledger was brilliant.
