Even though my initial reaction upon hearing of yet another adaptation of Charlotte Brontë's beautiful novel Jane Eyre was "NOT AGAIN!", I am very much liking the looks of the trailer and promotional images, both of which inspired me to whip up a quick batch of icons in celebratory anticipation of the film's theatrical (!!!) release in March of next year. (And Judi Dench, yay!)

As always, never alter my graphics, comment, credit, and enjoy!

Please, if you take anything, be so kind as to take note of the numbers of the icon(s) you're saving, since I am always experimenting with my styles and I would like to know what people like best. (This helps me so I can make more!) The numbers are above the icons.

Yes I was thinking about that!! I've also been contemplating rereading the book, myself...it's been SO long!

I was kind of the same way, especially after hearing who was cast as Jane. I still have my doubts about her. I think Michael & Dame Judi will steal the movie. I adore Judi Dench!

I think my heart will forever belong to the Ruth Wilson/Toby Stephen one though.

I haven't seen Alice in Wonderland yet, so I can't say, but she LOOKS good. Ruth Wilson didn't look right at all.

I'd watch Judi Dench take out the garbage!

it looks beautiful, but alas, neither Jane nor Mr Rochester are British.

..and Ruth Wilson is from Kent, not Yorkshire ;)

I don't think the actors' nationalities will be a problem. Seems like Mia and Judi are attempting Yorkshire accents as well which is a nice touch!

Ciaran Hinds is Irish, IIRC, and he played a pretty darn good Rochester. I'm more concerned with the authentic "feel" and true-ness to the original novel than the actors' nationalities--just so long as they can carry a convincing English accent. ;)

No Toby Stephens? I don't like it already. But I guess Dame Judi is worth giving a try, as always :)

Actually I'm pickier about my Janes than I am my Rochesters! LOL.

Judi Dench is ALWAYS worth giving a try! ;)

Lovely icons! 5 and 12 are my favourites, so creative! I also got iconing vibes from the trailer, but alas, not yet. Got many other iconing plans first!

Oooooh, 9. And 12-15.

My favorite book ever, so even though I've seen 4 movies already, I'm thrilled for another. I already have a trailer screen cap as my wallpaper :)

I adored this book, but I think I'm due for a reread. ;D I'll watch any schlocky crap that's labeled as JE, so I'll definitely see it eventually, however the thought of seeing Jane on the BIG SCREEN is incredibly appealing!!

Never been much of a Jane Eyre fan, but I did watch the trailer for this one, and I found it intriguing. We shall see...

Oi vey, whyever not? ;P Have you read the book? It's melodramatic, to be sure, but OHHHHHHHH is it wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know. I think I may have more "skimmed" the book than read the book, to be quite, quite honest. I suppose I should give it a proper try some day. I've seen a couple of different adaptations of it, so that may be where most of my opinions are coming from.

You really should! It's probably not everyone's cup of tea, but we like so much of the same things, maybe if you really sat down and got INTO it, you'd like it? *crosses fingers*

Maybe I'll try to give it a "real" read sometime during the long, cold winter ahead. One must do something besides homework! :-)

Tee hee, that's the perfect time of year--I still think of cold, bleak, rainy days (which I'm almost alone in loving) as "Jane Eyre weather". ;)

You'll have to keep me posted on your thoughts once/if you do start it! :D :D :D

You can have all of my cold, bleak rainy/snowy days! I don't want them!

I will! :-)

Beautiful icons! I'm not taking any at the moment, since I'm not sure whether to be a fan of this adaptation or not. But they are all really good. I think my favorites are 1, 4, 6, and Ohhh! 7 for sure!

I haven't decided, either, but I've learned to be able to appreciate something for it's visuals even if I can't stand the movie itself (P&P 2005 is a prime example). This one is definitely pretty!
