After much consideration and debate...

To all of my readers and friends,

I've been thinking about this for a long while, and after painful consideration and debate, I think it's best if I make official what most of you will probably have noticed already. Due to significant changes in my life, I've had to cut back dramatically on my internet time, and this of course affects my life on LJ. Therefore, I will be trimming down my Friends List, eliminating those who rarely/never comment, or journals that appear to be "dead", leaving communities I no longer have an interest/participate in, and so forth.

Generally I loathe that mentality where "unfriendings" are frequent and cause for taking personal offense, so while I find myself doing what others might argue is essentially the same thing, the reasons behind it are motivated by necessity as opposed to a desire to cause spiteful "drama" or hurt feelings. Truly this whole thing saddens me and I hate that I have to do it at all. :-(

So please, to everyone who finds this an LJ notification in their inbox, don't take this personally or make it dramatic when it oughtn't to be. I wish everyone well and all of the best!

I really don't think you should be sad, sweetie. I've had to do the same thing before and as long as it's not for anything spiteful (and you don't appear to be a spiteful person), then people should understand and realize the reasons why. I don't think anyone likes doing a friend's cut, but you have to do what you have to do for yourself. Besides, if these people have dead journals, they're most likely not going to even realize, nor care they were removed anyway. :)

Good luck to you, darling. I had ya friended because of your (Joker) graphic-making skills. I hope that, whatever it is that you need, you get to accomplish your goals. You are an amazing artist. Wish I'd gotten to know you better. My LJ isn't dead; I have constant chronic pain, so entries are far between SIMPLY for that reason (not to be dramatic, just an FYI).

It is very understandable and I do not believe anyone would become bitter over the matter. Thankfully, I have only had to remove "friends" whose posts were chronically filled with invectives and profanities.

Oh man, Rachel, I had no idea your mom had died! :'( Now I feel absolutely terrible. I knew she was sick but I honestly didn't know.

I thought we'd just "drifted apart" instead of your having to endure such a tragedy. :-( Now I completely understand what happened! I am so, so, so sorry...*hugs*

Yeah she died almost three months ago of cancer it took her really quick. Before we even expected. That's why I've been so scarce. And when I am on LJ I try to keep things positive.


Oh no I still loved reading your LJ and your posts and thought you had some amazing points of view in your entries. I jut haven't had time to comment. Its just my father and I dealing now with all the paper work and bills that usually my mom took care of. She really loved taking care of us. :^(

Thank you for adding me back I just noticed. But please don't feel bad. I should have come and told you personally on your LJ but things have been rather crazy. Did you also no...wasn't sure if you caught that post but shortly into my mom getting sick...Sean broke up with me? I have a much stronger guy in my life...but it had been quite the blow.

I totally understand the keep-LJ-positive thing, as I'm that way myself and try to keep (most) of the crap in my life out of my "online life" as well.

Yeah I tried to keep my LJ & Face book positive. it helped at times. I missed our little comment exchanges. :D

With Sean he did. He called me up at one in the morning and ended it. :( It wasn't good. *hugs back* But I am in alot of ways now much happier.
