"I must away..."
Jan. 13th, 2010 10:48 pmKudos to anyone who catches the very slight reference made in my subject line. ;-)
This is just a small FYI to let everyone know that I'm going to be without computer access for about a week (hopefully no longer!!) and so will be unable to receive or reply to any messages, obviously. ;-) In the meantime, thank you to everyone who has commented recently (I have been reading and appreciating them, more than you know!) despite my being unable to spend all the time required to answer them.
Prayers are of course still much-needed and much-appreciated, and give yourselves all a hug from me until I return! ;-D

Date: 2010-01-17 12:07 am (UTC)My mother’s mother, though a “Christian” was a very unpleasant, dishonest and difficult person. Her dysfunction plagued my family’s life for years, thus affecting my life both directly and indirectly. As an adult I made a conscious decision to “remove” her from my life though I hoped and prayed that God would resolve the rift before her death (I didn’t want regret and resentment hanging over me my whole life). Though it took many years, God has removed my grandmother’s sting and has brought peace and resolution to my family. My grandmother now lives with my mom and dad, and though she is a much diminished person she is finally a (relatively) pleasant person to be around and is unable to cause friction, upset, havoc, etc. We all finally have what we want: my grandmother has the affection of her family and we have the ability to love her and to see that her last days on this planet are lived well and with love. Though you may not desire it now, or may feel that it is impossible, put this situation (as I’m sure you do) and your grandmother in God’s hands. Don’t forget, He’s the guy who makes what is crooked straight and heals what is broken. Praise be to God! You and your family are in my thoughts and, more importantly, in my prayers.
*hugs you very tight and makes you a nice cup of tea (in a very pretty cup, of course)*

Date: 2010-03-10 12:42 am (UTC)However, I want to be sure and convey to you that not only do I appreciate your incredibly generous and kind gift (I'm sure you know how much enjoyment I get out of it and can imagine my face upon opening the email!), but this comment was likewise kindhearted. It helped to read it, as it helps to know that there are those who not only understand and can relate, but care.
So, thank you. ♥
