20 icons of various early Victorian paintings, mostly Joseph Karl Stieler, with some Franz Winterhalter. A good friend pointed these out to me, and I could not resist iconing such prettiness!! ;-D They are mostly in chronological order as well as I could approximate the dates from the clothing and hairstyles, starting with the 1830s and Stieler and ending with the 1850s and Winterhalter. ;-)

As always, never alter my graphics, comment, credit, and enjoy!

Please, if you take anything, be so kind as to take note of the numbers of the icon(s) you're saving, since I am always experimenting with my styles and I would like to know what people like best. (This helps me so I can make more!) The numbers are above the icons. ;-)

It's interesting to see how the womens' agency is removed by cutting off their heads and focusing on their chests in icons 10, 15, 16, and 18.

I really like the coloring and I don't think I've ever come across a more thought provoking icon post.

I really like # 15. The cropping accentuates the contrast between her shoulder and the fabric of the dress. Gorgeous! (taking that, and will credit if used)

Wow! I love all these. What beautiful paintings!

#1 I particularly love, because it reminds me of Lizzy and she's just so pretty. I also liked:
3 - she looks like she needs a talk over Starbucks.
7 - Red! and the crop is nice.
14 - I love all the ones with this girl, but I think I like this crop the best. She's sooo pretty.
16 - Lace!!!
17 - She looks like a governess. I like the way the background darkens at the edges.
18 - Purple!

Beautiful job!

Hello! I got here through the aesthetic icons community, and I am very much in love with your entire livejournal. As a mutual fan of historical fashion and period literature, I was wondering if I could friend you?

:-D Aren't they? I never would have found them if a friend hadn't shared them with me and I HAD to share them as icons because they caaaallllled tooooo meeeeeee. ;-P haha.

Ooh, you're right! I think JA said something in her letters about imagining Lizzy as wearing a yellow gown.

You mean she's sad?

I love that painting the best, too, or one of the best at least. There are a lot of ones that I love best. ;-P

16 reminds me of Book!Margaret Hale. Not quite coral jewelry, but she has black hair and a white gown. ;-) *has N&S on the brain*

Yes, purple! At least we've established that you know your colors. ;-P

Thank you very much m'dear! *bows and swoops hat low, dusting feather on ground*
