I have that problem often too--where people tell me which icons they're taking but go with the numbers below instead of above. It's a simple mistake, of course, but it makes it hard for me to tell what people like.

Yes, or sometimes they don't tell me any numbers at all. :-/ Short of polling, it's the best way for me to learn what's being taken and what's not.

Ah, well, I suppose I had that coming. :-) So many of his beauties are nude, so I figured that it might be a good idea to crop it out. I did do it to Waterhouse's mermaid a while back, if you'll recall.
