This time it's icons from the 2001 BBC adaptation of Lorna Doone, starring Amelia Warner. One of the lesser-known costume dramas, but definitely an excellent one, and it's not another chick-flick with a sappy romance, there are things for guys, too including battles! ;-) My brother just bought me this for Christmas, and I couldn't wait to cap it and make icons from all the lovely pretty scenes. :-) (and oh, yeah, can you tell I love Lorna's hairstyle?! *hee*)

Comment and credit if taking, and enjoy!

PLEASE NOTE: Numbers are above, not below, the icons, and please tell me which icons you're taking, not "snagging a few!" or "took some will credit!" because I really am of a curious nature and I'd like to know what's popular. ;-) Thanks!

Not actually taking any, but I do like them, especially #2, 3, 8, 10, 13, and 17.

Carver rocks my socks. XD

Thank you for the comment!

Eeee!! Carver creeps me out. *shudder* But I am not even close to being finished with this, so a few icons of someone other than Lorna might end up in a future batch... ;-)

Well I always wanted to see this .... I try reading it once but dropped out because it was too difficult for me. English is not my language... I have been looking for it in DVD clubs in Greece but am unable to find it as of yet. I know the story of course. I always wondered why no one iconised it. Would you mind making a link to this post to a community called [livejournal.com profile] little_women? They only accept period movies icons and I don't think I have seen one by Lorna Doone before. I am sure they would love to have those.

This is one of my favourite period dramas, because as well as being a nice love story, its really exciting. And Michael Kitchen cracks me up big time. :)

Have taken 9 and 14.

I actually just ordered this as I was thinking how much I'd like to see it again. These are lovely, I've taken a few. Please make more!

Snagging #17, lovely job. I so rarely see Lorna Doone icons, especially of the "red gown" scene. :-) Pity, too, because it is so gorgeous!

Took 8, 15, and 17. Will credit, of course.
You have such a knck for capturing beauty in your icons and graphics. Gorgeous work, as always!

Ugh. For some reason the layout is all messed up.

Okay, I VAGUELY remember this movie. I think I liked it a lot when I saw it. ... I need to get it on Netflix again.

I really love #2.

Yes, it is! I've actually known about it for quite a while since we found a copy at the library, but this is the first time I've had a DVD of it. ;-)

Oh yes. He's very funny. I love the "you'll still be hanged, of course, but I'll spare you the drawing and the quartering" part. ;-)

Ah, well, don't feel bad about that. I'm in the midst of reading it myself, and it's not the easiest thing I've ever read. ;-)

I had already posted a link there before, but I'm flattered you asked. :-) I hope you are able to find yourself a copy soon.

Thank you, Krista! You are the only person I've seen using LD icons before, so I wondered what you would think of them. ;-)

Ohhh, that scene is one of the best, IMO. So beautiul. *silly grin*

What layout? Mine? Or the icon table?? :-/

Yes, do! It's really good.

Thank you! :-)

Well, the icon table leaks out of the page and messes up the comments. :/

I have seen it, but I'm getting it again.

^-^

Eeek! It's not doing that on mine, but I did have trouble with it, so I'll take your word for it and go re-make it. Thanks for telling me!

Let me know when you've seen it again, so we can gush! *lol*

Sweet! I first got my hands on it when my mom picked up a box set of BBC or A&E movies at Costco. Was the best find EVER!

That's great! I would probably fall victim to something like that except that I have the 1995 P&P and that's almost always included. What else was in your box?

I can't exactly remember... it's really my mom's and unfortunately not on hand... though the Scarlet Pimpernel was in there I think, as well as Tom Jones and Ivanhoe... and a couple other Jane Austin ones...

From: [identity profile] olde-fashioned.livejournal.com
I've never seen those, (other than Jane Austen, I mean) unless the Scarlet Pimpernel is the Anthony Andrews/Jane Seymour version, which is pretty good.
