Oh, the "Did Batman save you, Daddy?" is one of the sweetest things in the entire world, and definitely one of my favorite little moments.
*dies* That's pretty much exactly it, I've watched some movies of his and it's sort of like, ...yeah, I wouldn't really watch this unless you're a Gary fan XD
My friend and I have talked about what we WANT to see in TDKR (which is mostly shallow Gary-related fangirly stuff XD), but there's one thing we've talked about, is that in the comics, Batman wants to reveal his true identity to Gordon, but Gordon says no, and that's something we want to see in the movie. I definitely would expect some tension between Jim and Batman, but really, there's such a wide range of things that could happen and ways Nolan could take it, so it's hard for me to really speculate.
There are some rumors I've seen that are quite terrifying to me, that they're looking to cast the role of a woman that Jim has an affair with in the comics. I haven't heard any more about them lately, so I'm hoping they've abated, but the very thought just scares me. It would be a complete and utter assassination of Jim's character, as they've set him up in the movies, for him to have an affair. Just looking at his actions in TDK alone, faking his death to protect his family, it just wouldn't work to suddenly show him in TDKR having an affair. They've set him up as this totally moral, incorruptible character, and I think that's the way Jim needs to stay. I also can't see it as something that Gary would be comfortable with, and Jim is as much his character as he is Nolan's, so I really don't see it happening, but every time I see a mention of it, I get all nervous again.
Oh, I am so very excited for Red Riding Hood, just from a purely shallow fangirl viewpoint. There's something about Gary Oldman with the long hair and beard and all medieval-y in robes that's just very appealing to me XD People are all like, CATHERINE HARDWICKE, EW, GROSS, and I'm like, pfft, Twilight sucked because it's Twilight, not because of who directed it.
