Huh. My friend said she found a fashion plate with sleeveless dresses - I'll have to ask her about that. However, even if they were period, I think the jarring factor remains - it just doesn't feel like they cared enough about the period (especially when it comes to manners - such as Lizzy and Darcy walking about in their nightclothes, or Bingley walking into Jane's room while she's in bed).
