We get to see the teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises!!!!!

The Dark Knight Rises Teaser Trailer

What does everyone think? I won't say anything about the contents of the teaser except in the comments, but they're seriously feeding my imagination here with the little clips that they've shown...

We're getting closerrrrr!!!!!! The teaser trailer should be out any day now!

Joseph Gordon Levitt is John Blake, Marion Cotillard is Miranda Tate in 'The Dark Knight Rises'
(All the fanboys are touting Marion Cotillard's role as a cover-up for Talia Al Ghul--any thoughts?)

Mayor Eyeliner Returns

So Lucius Fox is apparently definitely in the movie; we'll have to wait and see if he's still mad and leaving WE after the events of TDK!

What's with all these all these Pittsburg rumors?

Three other additions to the TDKR cast, including a familiar face to those of us who have seen Bleak House and the newest Wuthering Heights (also starring Tom Hardy, heh).

I'll leave you with an interesting photo collage of the cast so far.

(And I think I just found a favourite new site for Batman news!)

I know we've all heard the rumors regarding "Inception 2 also starring Batman", aka "The Dark Knight Rises", but this looks like it's been confirmed: Joseph Gordon-Levitt finally confirmed for Dark Knight Rises

And it keeps getting even better: Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Alberto Falcone in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

Does this mean The Holiday Killer will be in TDKR?

(And do any other childhood Batman cartoon viewers remember Calender Girl?)

Coupled with the rumors about Marion Cotillard also joining forces with the Dark Knight & Co., this could prove very interesting, indeed.

So what do you think? (Does it come in black?)

Apparently it's official: Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle, and Tom Hardy is playing Bane. [source]

I'm not at all happy about the choice of Anne Hathaway (really...why HER???), but I can't deny being very pleased indeed at my ideal combination of villains since day one!!! :D :D :D So that tickles me, mwahaha...I'm trying to remind myself that Nolan knows what he's doing in regards to AH (OMG same intials as Adam Hughes!!), but we shall seeeee...
olde_fashioned: (TDK -- Joker YAY!)
Apparently it's official, folks! (*cue squeeing*)  Here's a quick break-down of the facts as various online sources are reporting them:
  • Batman 3's title is officially "The Dark Knight Rises".
  • Tom Hardy is in.
  • The Riddler is out.
  • Filming is slated to begin in April of next year, in New Orleans, Lousiana.
  • Actresses approximately 20-30 years of age are apparently being interviewed for an undisclosed part.

I'm not too sure I like the title...I can't help but feel it's a less-creative and unexpectedly expected type of choice.  Historically Christopher Nolan is much more original and creative than this--perhaps this is another decoy designed to thwart over-zealous fans, ala "Rory's First Kiss"?  I understand the concept behind the addition of the one word, if indeed it is the actual title.

The choice of New Orleans is baffling; I can only speculate that Tom Hardy's character, or one of the other as-yet-unnamed characters has a background there; or, New Orleans will be a stand-in for certain portions of Gotham at some point in the storyline.

I'm relieved that the Riddler isn't going to be one of the villains!!!  No offense to fans, but he's just too close to the Joker.

Any bets Tom Hardy plays a young son of Sal Maroni rising to the top of the mafia food chain?  ;-)

I'm still hoping for CATWOMAN CATWOMAN CATWOMAN!!!  And Bane.  MWAHAHAHAAA!!!  And Helen Mirren as Dr. Leslie Thompkins, possibly as an old flame of Alfred's.  LOL!

PLEASE no Talia al Ghul.  *grimace*  I hate her.

Let the Batman blogging begin!  (Presuming it ever ended...)

Here's an interesting list of facts that "TDKR" will have to play off of.  Thought provoking!
