Apparently it's official, folks! (*cue squeeing*) Here's a quick break-down of the facts as various online sources are reporting them:
- Batman 3's title is officially "The Dark Knight Rises".
- Tom Hardy is in.
- The Riddler is out.
- Filming is slated to begin in April of next year, in New Orleans, Lousiana.
- Actresses approximately 20-30 years of age are apparently being interviewed for an undisclosed part.
I'm not too sure I like the title...I can't help but feel it's a less-creative and unexpectedly expected type of choice. Historically Christopher Nolan is much more original and creative than this--perhaps this is another decoy designed to thwart over-zealous fans, ala "Rory's First Kiss"? I understand the concept behind the addition of the one word, if indeed it is the actual title.
The choice of New Orleans is baffling; I can only speculate that Tom Hardy's character, or one of the other as-yet-unnamed characters has a background there; or, New Orleans will be a stand-in for certain portions of Gotham at some point in the storyline.
I'm relieved that the Riddler isn't going to be one of the villains!!! No offense to fans, but he's just too close to the Joker.
Any bets Tom Hardy plays a young son of Sal Maroni rising to the top of the mafia food chain? ;-)
I'm still hoping for CATWOMAN CATWOMAN CATWOMAN!!! And Bane. MWAHAHAHAAA!!! And Helen Mirren as Dr. Leslie Thompkins, possibly as an old flame of Alfred's. LOL!
PLEASE no Talia al Ghul. *grimace* I hate her.
Let the Batman blogging begin! (Presuming it ever ended...)
Here's an interesting list of facts
that "TDKR" will have to play off of. Thought provoking!
